One of the most pervasive myths surrounding death is that it must be met with resolution. Final conversations, forgiveness, answers, apologies, acceptance. The idea that something must be completed before a person can die peacefully is woven deeply into cultural narratives, clinical language, and even spiritual spaces.

In real end of life settings, this expectation often creates harm.

Many people do not feel ready to resolve lifelong relationships. Some truths are complex, layered, or simply not meant to be spoken aloud. Some hurt cannot be repaired in words. Some love exists alongside anger, grief, or disappointment, and none of these negate the other.

Forcing closure places the dying person in a position of emotional labour at the very moment their body is withdrawing from effort.

Supporting death without forcing closure means recognizing that completion does not always look like resolution. This allows the body to soften, not because everything is resolved, but because nothing is being asked of it.

This approach positions the death doula as a protector of emotional consent.

Just as we would never force physical comfort measures, we must not force emotional ones.

The doula’s role is not to orchestrate a necessarily beautiful ending, but to ensure a truthful one, one that supports the dying person.

A death can be peaceful without being tidy.
A person can die loved without saying everything.
A life does not need to make sense to others to be complete.

Knowing this requires trust, maturity, and the willingness to sit with discomfort, for families and doulas alike.

🤍Grief Oracle Card 🤍
Repetition and Healing

🖤Oracle Card
Repetition and Healing

What you return to is what heals you.

🖤There is a word, a name, a phrase that carries love inside it. It may belong to someone you miss, someone you love, or a part of yourself that is asking to be remembered.

Say it.
Write it.
Breathe it.

🖤Each repetition is not going backwards, it is deepening. Each time you return, your body understands a little more. Your heart softens. Your grief finds rhythm instead of sharpness.

Repetition is devotion.
Repetition is presence.
Repetition is how love learns to live inside time.

🖤Let the words move through your mouth, your hands, your breath, until thought, feeling, and body become one steady current.

You are not stuck.
You are integrating.

🖤From this place, allow love to fill you, for yourself, for those still here, for those who have crossed, and for the life that continues to unfold through you. What you return to is what heals you.

🖤The Loss of Identity Before Death🖤

Long before a body dies, many experience a loss that is almost never named or supported: the loss of who they believe themselves to be.

This identity loss can happen months or even years before death, especially with chronic illness, disability, dementia, or prolonged decline. It is not just about physical ability. It is about role, purpose, dignity, and self recognition.

🩶People stop being seen as
A parent
A partner
A professional
A decision maker
A contributor

🩶And instead become
A patient
A burden
A diagnosis
A schedule
A body to be managed

This loss is often more painful than the fear of dying itself.

Medical systems focus on symptoms and survival. Families focus on logistics and care. Even grief conversations tend to focus on loss after death.

✨Sometimes what a dying person needs most is to hear✨
“I still see you”
“You are still you”
“Your worth did not disappear when your abilities changed”

Dying is not just about preparing for death.
It is about mourning the many small deaths that happen beforehand.

Supporting someone through identity loss can restore dignity, ease fear, and soften the dying process in ways medication never can.

This topic alone can change how someone experiences their final chapter.

Join us This Monday!

Reiki is for the Living and the Dying.

It is a practice of presence, regulation, and remembrance that supports the nervous system, the emotional body, and the soul, whether someone is actively living, actively dying, or standing at the threshold between the two.

For the living, Reiki works as a gentle rebalancing of the system. It supports stress reduction, emotional processing, grief, anxiety, chronic illness, trauma held in the body, and spiritual disconnection. Reiki does not force healing. It creates the conditions where the body and spirit can remember how to return to equilibrium. Many people experience a sense of safety, grounding, and clarity, often without needing to explain what is shifting.

For the dying, Reiki becomes something quieter and even more sacred. It is no longer about fixing or improving. It is about accompanying. Reiki supports the release of fear, the softening of resistance, and the calming of the nervous system as the body prepares to transition. It honours the body’s innate wisdom and timing, rather than interrupting it.

In death doula work, Reiki becomes a bridge. It supports the living as they grieve, and it supports the dying as they release. It holds the space between worlds with reverence, patience, and love.

Please note this is level 3, Usui.

Our level 1 will begin in March. Registration for both is open now.

☁️Grief Oracle - Like a Cloud☁️

🤲🏼Today you are being asked to soften your grip on the edge you have been holding. The place between earth and sky is the in between, the threshold where you have been trying to stay steady, stay helpful, stay in control. This message is a permission slip to rest your nervous system, to stop bracing, and to trust that you do not have to carry the whole weather pattern alone.

🫶🏼Becoming a cloud is not about disappearing, it is about changing form. Clouds do not force their way forward. They gather, they drift, they release. They know when to hold, and they know when to rain. This is your reminder that letting go is a sacred intelligence, not a failure. Your tenderness is not a weakness. Your pause is not a delay. Your rest is part of your medicine.

🤍🩶🖤If you have been waiting for a sign to stop pushing, this is it. Lie back. Breathe. Look up. Let the world be wide again. Let the next right step come to you, instead of you chasing it.

🤲🏼 The Body Knows Death is Coming First 🤲🏼

One of the most consistent observations in end of life care is the body begins preparing for death before the person consciously acknowledges it. This preparation is not cognitive. It is instinctual, physiological, and deeply intelligent. Like a pregnant mother nesting before birth.

This phase can occur days, weeks, or sometimes months before death and is often misunderstood by families and sometimes mislabelled by professionals.

🪶People nearing death may begin to🪶
• Withdraw socially, even from people they love deeply
• Speak less, or choose words more carefully
• Lose interest in future oriented conversations or plans
• Spend more time sleeping or resting quietly
• Reorganise personal belongings, paperwork, or sentimental items
• Give away possessions without framing it as goodbye
• Become inward, reflective, or emotionally neutral
• Show less tolerance for noise, stimulation, or emotional intensity

This phase is frequently mistaken for depression, resignation, or loss of hope. In reality, it is neither.
The nervous system is preparing for closure.

🧎‍➡️Human bodies carry ancient survival and transition mechanisms that modern culture rarely acknowledges.

🙏Families frequently respond with fear or confusion during this phase.

Death doulas are often the first to recognize this transition for what it is. By reframing this phase, the death doula reduces fear and prevents unnecessary emotional pressure being placed on the dying person.

Many people do not consciously realize they are dying until very late, yet their bodies have been preparing for some time.

✨This is not denial.

✨It is wisdom.

The body knows how to let go in stages, protecting both the dying person and the people who love them.

This is one of the most sacred thresholds a death doula witnesses, and one of the most important to understand

🌝The Full Wolf Moon🐺

She rises after sleep, in the deep quiet of winter, when the world is still, nights are long, and instinct is louder than logic. The moon of remembrance, resilience, and truth. She doesnt ask permission for hunger, grief, devotion, loyalty. She honours whats real.

At 3:00am the veil is thinnest, this moon rises, asks us to listen inward. This is not a gentle release. It is a reclamation.

The Wolf Moon reminds us survival is sacred. Community matters. Boundaries are wisdom. Intuition is not something to tame, it’s something to trust.

Energetically, she stirs ancestral memory, body wisdom, and emotional truths we’ve tried to silence for comfort or peace. She calls us back to ourselves, and the parts that learned to endure quietly.

This moon is potent for those walking through grief, transition, identity shifts, and rebirth.

🤍At 3:00 am if you are awake, or anytime on February 3rd with intention, try the following🤍:

Light a candle. Place a bowl of water beside it. Hold a grounding object (crystal or etc) in your hands and take several slow breaths.

Say aloud or silently
“I enter this moment with intention. I call my energy home.”

Place one hand over your heart and one on your belly.

Say
“Wolf Moon, keeper of instinct and truth,
Guide me back to what is real.
Show me where I have silenced myself.
Protect what is sacred within me.”

Pause. Listen. Let images, sensations, or emotions arise without judgement.

On your paper, write what you are ready to release. This may include
Fear that keeps you quiet
Loyalty that costs you your truth
Grief you have been carrying alone
Old identities that no longer fit

Read what you wrote aloud.

Then say
“I honour what carried me here.
I release what no longer walks with me.”

Fold and place it under the bowl, symbolising release and cleansing.

Visualise a protective energy around you, like a wolf circling calmly & fierce.
Dip your fingers into the water and gently touch your forehead or heart.

Blow out your candle.

🇭🇹Haitian End of life care is understood as a passage rather than an ending, and care for the dying has historically been relational, ritual based, and spiritually supported.

Many Haitians practice a blend of Roman Catholicism and Vodou, also spelled Vodou Ayisyen. These traditions coexist rather than compete. Ancestors, known as les morts, are believed to remain present and active in the lives of the living.

The belief that the soul has multiple aspects, including the gros bon ange and ti bon ange, informs how death is approached. The transition of these spiritual elements must be handled with care, intention, and ritual in order to ensure peace for both the deceased and the living.

Manbo and Oungan, Vodou priestesses and priests, provided spiritual guidance, rituals, prayers, and protection. They supported both the dying person and the family, helping prepare the spirit for transition and ensuring proper rites were observed.

One of the most significant rituals is Dessounin, a ceremony performed approximately one year and one day after death. This ritual helps guide the spirit fully into the ancestral realm and re establish harmony between the living and the dead.

At its core, Haitian end of life care teaches that dying is not a medical failure, but a communal and spiritual transition. Death doulas today help restore this understanding in a modern context, ensuring that death is met with dignity, meaning, cultural respect, and human presence.

✨Today carries the energy of 1 1 1, landing on the first day of the first month, inside a universal 1 year. 2026=1

🤩This is not just repetition, it is alignment. One is the number of beginnings, intention, sovereignty, and conscious creation. When it appears three times, it amplifies the call to step forward deliberately rather than drift.

👑Today you get a reset point. It asks not what you hope will happen, but what you are going to initiate. In a 1 year, themes of independence, leadership, and a new identity are already active. Starting today, a year on a triple one day intensifies the message, this is about planting seeds rooted in truth, not fear or habit.

🌞1 1 1 also speaks to clarity. It strips things back to essence. What is aligned stays. What is no longer authentic feels louder today. This is a powerful moment to set intentions not from urgency, but from self trust.

🌟The energy supports quiet decisions, firm boundaries, and beginnings that may feel subtle now but will echo throughout the year.

🏆What you decide today, WILL manifest this year. Let go of the how, the when, the where, and give it to the universe. That’s the beauty of a potent triple 1 year.

🏦This is not about manifesting faster. It is about choosing consciously. What you name today, what you commit to internally, becomes the framework the rest of the year builds upon.

💰MANIFEST WITH ME💰

Find a quiet moment. Light a single candle if you have one. Sit comfortably and take three slow breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Place one hand on your heart and one on your lower belly. Say quietly or internally,

“I am ready. I am willing. I manifest my life.”

On a small piece of paper, write three intentions for the year ahead. Keep them clear and rooted in how you want to be, not just what you want to receive.

After writing them, read each one slowly and ask yourself,
“What would this require of me?”

Let the answer arise without forcing it.

Fold the paper once toward you and hold it in your palms. Close your eyes and breathe steadily into your manifestations for 5-10 minutes.
