✨ Friday the 13th ✨
For some people, today carries a shadow. For others, it’s one of the most magickal days on the calendar.
The fear around Friday the 13th is actually pretty recent in the grand scheme of history. One theory traces it back to the Arrest of the Knights Templar, when hundreds of Templars were rounded up on Friday, October 13th by order of King Philip IV of France. Over time, stories, superstition, and folklore twisted the date into something ominous.
But long before that narrative took hold, the number 13 was sacred.
In many ancient traditions, 13 represents the divine feminine. There are 13 moon cycles in a year. Thirteen was connected to intuition, mystery, and the rhythm of nature. When you look at it that way, Friday the 13th isn’t unlucky at all — it’s powerful.
And Friday itself has its own magick. In many traditions, it’s associated with Venus: love, beauty, connection, and creation.
So instead of fearing today, you could treat it as a portal.
A day to trust your intuition.
A day to do something a little mystical.
Pull a tarot card. Light a candle. Set an intention. Listen to what your inner voice is trying to say.
Sometimes the things we’re taught to fear are actually invitations to step into our power.
Happy Friday the 13th. 🕯️🌙🔮✨
