🦁✨ Lion Pose for Throat & Breath Support ✨🦁
Did you know a simple yoga exercise can help support your breath, voice, and throat health? Lion Pose (Simhasana) is a gentle but powerful movement I often share with clients who carry tension in the jaw, neck, or upper chest — especially during seasons when our respiratory system feels a little extra sensitive.
By kneeling comfortably, opening the mouth wide, and releasing an audible exhale, this pose encourages:
🌿 Deep, cleansing breaths
🌿 Release of jaw and throat tension
🌿 Gentle stimulation around the tonsils and vocal muscles
🌿 Stress relief through expressive movement
One of my favourite things about Lion Pose is how accessible it is. You can do it right at home — even on a bed or with a blanket under the knees for extra comfort.
✨ Try this: Inhale through the nose…
Then exhale through an open mouth with a soft “haa” sound, letting the tongue relax outward. Repeat a few rounds and notice how your throat and breath feel afterward.
As always, listen to your body and move gently — this is meant to support your wellness, not strain it 💗
If you’re dealing with ongoing tension, breathing stress, or throat tightness, we can also work on supportive techniques during your massage or movement sessions at Zenyah Healing.
🌙 Mending the Body, Mind & Spirit — one breath at a time.
