Today marks the 114th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Following the disaster, the White Star Line commissioned four ships from Halifax to search for victims. They recovered 328 bodies and brought 209 back to shore, with the remainder being buried at sea. Of those brought back to Halifax, 121 were laid to rest in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, each marked by a small gray granite headstone. While a third of these victims were initially unidentified, years of dedicated research and DNA testing have finally given names to some who were lost. Exciting News!

Our first shipment of monuments, markers, bases, and foundations arrived this morning—always a sure sign that the installation season is just around the corner.

Now the real work begins as our team sorts and palletizes each order, preparing them for delivery to cemeteries across Saskatchewan. In just a few weeks, our installation contractors will be on the road, ensuring every memorial is placed with the care and respect it deserves.

We’re looking forward to a busy and meaningful season ahead. 🌿

PRESS RELEASE April 9, 2026

Local Business Owner Discovers 5th-Generation Legacy in Regina’s Monument Industry

Regina, SK — What began as a point of pride has evolved into an even deeper legacy for local business owner Adam Reeson of Frontier Monuments.

Long known as a fourth-generation memorialist, Reeson recently uncovered new details in his family history revealing he is, in fact, part of a fifth-generation lineage in Regina’s monument industry.

Through genealogical research, Reeson discovered that Great-Grandfather, Thomas L. Reeson, was involved in the trade earlier than previously believed. Before founding the Regina Monumental Company in 1924, Thomas worked alongside his father-in-law, Ernest Hancock, at Hancock, Sons & Co., a monument business operating in Regina as early as 1919.

A historic newspaper advertisement from that time highlights the company’s presence in downtown Regina, further underscoring the family’s long-standing connection to the community.

“This discovery adds an entirely new layer to our story,” said Reeson. “Knowing our family has served Regina and surrounding communities for five generations is incredibly meaningful. It speaks to the trust families have placed in us for more than a century.”

In the 1950s, Thomas Reeson’s son, Kenneth H. Reeson, took over the family business. It was later operated by the next generation—David, Ken Jr., Holly, and John—until Regina Monumental Company (Remco) was sold in 2013.

Founded by Adam Reeson in 2017, Frontier Monuments proudly continues that tradition, helping families across Regina and the surrounding area create lasting memorials that honour loved ones and preserve their stories for generations to come.

This newly uncovered chapter not only strengthens the Reeson family legacy but also highlights the enduring importance of memorialization in preserving local history.
