Day to learn, day to practise, and a day to share.

Tula Wellness is a full-service virtual trauma counselling centre, offering accredited services in both British Columbia and Ontario. We offer individual, family, and couples therapy. Our collective work from a trauma and violence informed practice, providing client lead services that focus on shifting patterns, integrating knowledge, and healing from traumatic wounds. We utilize EMDR, DBR, IFS, M-CBT, and narrative practise to assist our clients.

Tula believes that counselling should be accessible, consumable, and helpful. We work hard to find ways to do this every day. Tula is registered as a service provider for Victim Services of BC and Ontario, WorkSafeBC, NHIB, FNIB, Veteran Service BC, and many more. If you do not have coverage from a service agency, we also provide low barrier services- low or no cost counselling. If you would like to learn more please check us out at www.tulawellness.ca

This March, Tula is giving a challenge out to our followers- Wellness in 10- seconds. We know often the smallest steps are the most important. By making little shifts, at the end of the day we make huge change. Wanna come along and give it a try??

Here is how is works- Twice a week, we will give you an offering for you to consider as it applies to your life, 36 shifts in total. You can connect into all or maybe just a few. Topics will include: Getting Grounded, Trauma Debunked, Building ME, Connectivity and Relationships, Hope & Healing and Closure and Endings.

We encourage you to talk to friends and family members maybe even keep a journal. Learn the concept, practice the tool, and share. This is free, and is an open invitation, and it is just 10 seconds, to change a way of thinking, and perhaps the way you move through this world. If you like the sound of this, hit like, follow our page for bi-weekly posts, and share, we encourage you to share with those you care about.

Virtual counselling is one way that technology has opened up opportunities for people to gain access to mental health support. Weather someone is more comfortable talking from the comfort of their own home, struggles with mobility or transportation, lives in a remote area, just prefers this form of support, or anywhere in between, being able to see a counsellor virtually removes barriers and opens doors to accessing a trained counsellor. Secure programs and software ensure that confidentiality and safety is still forefront within the experience.
Tula Wellness offers virtual counselling to individuals and couples living in BC and Ontario through a holistic approach honoring each individuals needs.

🍁 Lest We Forget: Courage Beyond the Battlefield 💜
Today, on Remembrance Day, we wear our poppies to honor the profound sacrifices of our veterans and service members. We remember those who gave their lives and those who returned home forever changed.

But our duty of care does not end with a moment of silence. Many of our heroes carry invisible wounds—the impacts of trauma, stress, and loss that affect their mental well-being.

This November 11th, let's commit to supporting their ongoing journey. Reaching out for counseling, therapy, or mental health support is a sign of true strength, not weakness. We must work together to break the stigma and ensure every veteran has access to the help they deserve.

To our veterans: You are valued. Your experiences matter. Resources are available, and you do not have to walk this path alone.

Resources for Support:

Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Assistance Service: 1-800-268-7708

The Royal Canadian Legion: Contact your local branch for services and referrals.

Crisis Services Canada: Call or text 988 for immediate help.

Stress can take many forms, and has it's positive and negative benefits. On International Stress Awareness Day it can help to take a moment to reflect on how stress presents for you, what you notice in your body and mind when you are in an active stress state, and what helps you to relax and find calm in order to destress.
If you find that you struggle with recognizing your stress response or being able to step away from stress, it can help to talk to someone and build a resource toolkit.

Feeling a bit down as the days get shorter? You're not alone. Many people experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression linked to seasonal changes. 🌧️

Be kind to yourself during these months. Your feelings are valid, and help is available. ❤️

Today is International Pronouns Day, a day to raise awareness and recognition of the importance of pronouns. When using a person's chosen pronouns, you are showing respect and recognition while validating their identity. Our language has impact.

National day for Truth and Reconciliation.
On this day we are called to reflect on the lasting devastating impacts residential schools have had, and continue to have, on Indigenous communities, their families and the inter-generational wounds of suffering, pain and dislocation.

Some times we my feel lost in not knowing what we can do to make a difference. Here are some places to start;

- wear an orange shirt,
- attend local events,
- educate yourself and others about residential schools,
- donate to Indigenous organizations,
- support Indigenous businesses and artists,
- read Indigenous authors,
- and listen to the stories and perspectives of Indigenous people.

These actions, which can be taken year-round, help honour Survivors and the children who never came home.
