Hey y’all,
It’s been super quiet over here for a long while because I’ve been crafting my greatest piece yet, my 8 month old son!
As you may know 8 months ago I had a very traumatic birth and subsequent 15 days in the hospital. We came out on top, as we always do, but processing everything we went through meant I needed to go deeply inward for the winter, and that was hard on my mental wellness too.
As I heal my heart and my body, because 3 c sections ain’t no joke, and pass the days holding my son in my arms, my hands long for the days of making. I don’t know if I will ever be doing what I did before, but it’s nice to know you’re all still here cheering me on. Good Woman Hand Craft has been an exploration of my life long study of what it means to be a good human, someone worth knowing and coming from, the importance of Women’s work and craft and art, and right now that looks like raising children who will also be someone’s worth coming from. May it be so.
There is still stuff for sale on my website, including my last sheepskin collar drop, which a bunch of you said you wanted but then no one bought. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m not going to discount it because it’s too demoralizing, and when you spend hours and hours making something by hand it breaks your heart to sell it at a loss. It’s cool though. Know your worth and don’t compromise. ✌️
Please enjoy this picture of the first lilacs of the season, now long past. Because lilacs are my most beloved flower, they remind us that nothing good lasts forever and life has its seasons.
