On Friday, CPO Laura Hunter, team member Rishi Joshi and board member Dennis Serfas had the privilege of accepting the Employer of Choice for Large Enterprise (Emerging Talent) award at the Saskatoon Open Door Society Annual Diversity Awards Gala on behalf of every single team member at LutherCare Communities.

Last week, CARF accreditors were on site at LutherCare Communities as part of our ongoing accreditation renewal, including visits to group homes, housing, and our home help program.
Their review focused on quality, safety, and accountability across our services, reinforcing a strong culture of continuous improvement and person‑centred care. This work supports better outcomes for residents and provides clear standards and expectations that help our team members deliver consistent, high‑quality services.

We had a great week of activities at Riverside Terrace and wanted to share a couple of highlights!

On Tuesday, some of our residents headed out for a lunch outing at Red Lobster, where they enjoyed a delicious seafood meal and plenty of laughs. And, of course, those unlimited garlic-and-herb biscuits were a big hit. They’re hard to resist! 🦐🧄

Then on Wednesday, we welcomed Alyssa from Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation, who delivered a fascinating presentation all about skunks. Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation is a Saskatoon-based non-profit organization that provides care and rehabilitation for injured and orphaned wild animals and offers education programs that promote understanding and coexistence with wildlife. Residents enjoyed learning surprising facts about these often misunderstood animals and had great questions to share. 🦨
