Firefighters out of old Fire Hall 1 responding to a fire on the Ladder Truck 🚒 The old Fire Hall 1 operated from 1908- 1965, when it was demolished and the Francis Morrison Library took its place.

Images like this remind us how far firefighting equipment and apparatus have advanced over the years. Modern fire trucks, protective gear, and safety technology now provide firefighters with greater protection, improved efficiency, and lifesaving capabilities. Ensuring those who protect our community can do so more safely than ever before 👩‍🚒

This month reminds us of the importance of education, prevention, and supporting those affected. We stand with our members and families in the fight against occupational cancer.

Fire crews have completed ice thickness testing at storm water retention ponds around . All recreational ponds have surpassed the minimum required thickness and signage has been updated at each pond. If the sign displays a green “Skating Permitted” icon, the ice has been confirmed safe to use. For more information, visit saskatoon.ca/ponds.
