Here are 3 Wellness Tips:
(1) Prioritize Sleep – rest is key to staying sharp and creative. Try to go to bed early so that you are getting 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night.
(2) Move Your Body – exercise is a great stress reliever and can boost your energy. Make movement a part of your daily routine.
(3) Practice Mindfulness – incorporate mindfulness techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or journaling to stay grounded and manage stress.

Did you know that stress is a contributing factor to the six leading causes of death? Chronic stress can lead to serious health issues which include high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and a weakened immune system.

Stress can cause us to freeze and stay stuck, unable to move or make changes in our life that support our overall physical and mental well being.

Practice these 4 simple ways to reduce stress in your life:

(1) Practice Deep Breathing - do the 4-7-8 breathing where you inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7 counts, and exhale for 8 counts; do this 3 or 4 times a day to help bring you back into a state of calm and peace;

(2) Stay Organized - make lists of what you need to do that day and check them off as you accomplish each task; or declutter your space so that you can think more clearly;

(3) Exercise Regularly - make it a habit to move your body; it could be as simple as taking a walk after you eat which can help lower your blood sugar, and feel more energized;

(4) Take Breaks - take an electronic break and meditate even if it's just for 5 or 10 minutes a day; this will help you feel refreshed and clear-minded.

Your mental health can directly affect your physical well being, how you feel about yourself, others and life in general. Here is a mental checklist to help you stay centered, strong and in touch with who you are:

(1) Face your feelings - acknowledge how you feel and allow those feelings to flow through you without judgement;
(2) Love yourself - allow and embrace only loving thoughts about yourself;
(3) Read a book - that inspires you;
(4) Talk to friends - who support you and have your best interests at heart;
(5) Meditate daily - for 5 to 10 minutes a day to connect to your own energy;
(6) Walk in Nature - to remind you that you are not alone and are deeply connected to the natural world around you.

Stretch your body! It helps to alleviate back, neck and shoulder pain, maintain muscle and joint health, improve circulation, range of motion and flexibility.

Stretching can also help calm the body and mind.

For best results, try stretching when muscles are warmed up, at least 2-3 x a week. This will help prevent stiffness and injuries and maintain long-term mobility and flexibility.
