🥙🔥 Homemade Donair Meat (East Coast Classic at Home!) 🔥🥙
If you’ve ever had a true donair, you KNOW… that perfectly spiced, tender, sliceable meat is next-level delicious 🤤 Now you can make it right in your own kitchen—no spit required!
🛒 Ingredients
1+ lb extra lean ground beef 🥩
Spice Mix:
1 tsp cayenne pepper 🌶️
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder 🧄
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano 🌿
1 tsp paprika
👩🍳 Directions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2️⃣ In a small bowl, mix all spices together.
3️⃣ Add ground beef and spice mix to a stand mixer. Mix on medium speed for several minutes until the texture becomes smooth and sticky (almost paste-like).
👉 No mixer? Knead and punch the meat by hand for about 10 minutes until very firm and tightly packed.
4️⃣ Press the meat firmly into a loaf pan, packing it down tightly. Leave a little space at one end for juices to collect.
5️⃣ Bake for 80 minutes until fully cooked through.
6️⃣ Remove from oven, drain excess juices, and let cool.
7️⃣ Wrap tightly in foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (this step is key for texture!).
8️⃣ When ready to serve, slice thin and pan-fry or reheat in the oven until edges are slightly crispy 🔥
