Did you know that in our beloved Canada, one in three people struggle with diabetes or prediabetes? 😮 That's a staggering 1.5 million Canadians who have type two diabetes and aren't even aware of it. 😔 Additionally, 6 million of our friends and neighbours have prediabetes, with half of them at risk of developing type two diabetes without intervention. 😟

We have a Certified Diabetes Educator!! Congratulations Aqeel Askari!! 🥳

This role specializes in educating, supporting and promoting self-management of diabetes. The intention is to help people living with diabetes and/or prediabetes develop individualized goals to better optimize their care and health outcomes.

They address the unique aspects of a person’s life that impact diabetes care. All areas of diabetes self-care are covered, including adjustments that might be needed for diet, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring, medication dosing and even stress management.
