_____
Clinical Hypnotherapy is:
- A natural, relaxing and effective approach that taps into the powerful abilities of your own body & mind to heal and change. Hypnosis techniques aim to quiet the conscious brain (the thinking, talking part of our brain) and to relax the physical body. This facilitates access to the powerful, deeper subconscious mind, which is about 90% of the human brain.
- In many ways the subconscious is like a massive and powerful computer. It stores every experience we’ve had - along with the associated feelings and emotions. It is also the seat of our deepest beliefs and our habits. And it’s the centre that controls all the systems and responses of our body. Even though we are mostly unaware of it and its contents, this computer runs the show! It makes sense that we might want to visit this computer from time to time! To run a scan for viruses, delete old files, and update some programming. Hypnotherapy helps us do that.
- With the recent growth of neuroscience and understanding about how our brain works, interest and research in Clinical Hypnotherapy has increased. Many leading universities and hospitals have incorporated Hypnotherapy into cancer and other health programs, including scientific research projects.

_____
What will it be like?
- Your hypnotherapy appointment with Peggy will feel similar to a guided meditation. Most people receive the results they want within 4-6 sessions. Some find results after just one session, and others require more than 6 sessions.
- Hypnotherapy is very different from talk therapy/counselling. It does require some talking to ensure that the client and the Hypnotherapist are on the same page with the results you want from Hypnotherapy. Beyond that, it is up to the client how much additional context and life detail they wish to share. This information can be beneficial but is not absolutely required in order for Hypnotherapy to be effective.
- The first session usually requires at least 2 hours, and ongoing sessions generally run 1-2 hours. Each session is $140 + hst.
___
This is important! For Hypnotherapy to be effective it is critical that clients are:
- Open to the process
- Truly committed to the change they are seeking. (For example, it won’t work if you’re only doing it because
of someone else, or if someone is ‘making you’) It is impossible for a Hypnotherapist to make you do
anything you don't completely want for yourself. You can find lots of information about Hypnotherapy online. You can also book a FREE, short telephone conversation with Peggy to discuss whether Clinical Hypnotherapy is for you.
