I’m Alex, a Canadian Certified Counsellor supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s ups and downs. I’m a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association with a background in Applied Social Psychology. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent several years working in the community sector, where I found my passion for supporting families, building connections, and helping people navigate life’s ups and downs. Those experiences taught me how powerful it can be to have a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported — something I strive to offer in my work every day. Over the years, I’ve pursued additional training to enhance my ability to support clients from all walks of life. I have completed Gottman Training for Couples Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), both of which guide my work with individuals and couples in improving communication, emotional connection, and self-awareness. I also have specialized training in grief and loss, family therapy, and in working with children and youth who are neurodiverse. In addition, I have experience working with Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOAs) and supporting families affected by alcoholism, helping clients navigate the lasting impact of addiction, rebuild trust, and foster healthier patterns of connection and communication. In our work together, I strive to tailor a variety of evidence-based approaches to meet your unique needs and help you build on the strengths that already exist within you (because yes, you have many!). Whether you’re exploring relationship challenges, coping with grief, processing the impact of family addiction, or supporting a neurodiverse child, I’ll meet you where you are with warmth and understanding. Finding the right therapist can feel like a big step, but it’s one that can lead to healing, growth, and greater self-awareness. I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way. If this sounds like the kind of support you’re looking for, I’d love to connect — send me an email, and let’s get started.
