When our founder, Tim, started in this industry in 1983, confined space safety in Canada was a patchwork of rules that didn't talk to each other.
Then in 2008, something important happened. CSA brought together 32 people from across the country... not to write theory, but to hammer out what actually worked in the field. The discussions were real. The stakes were higher.
What came out of those sessions was Canada's first unified confined space standard. One approach that could satisfy regulations from New Brunswick to Alberta to Ontario.
This wasn't about one company or one province claiming the solution. It was about getting it right, together.
That collaborative spirit, and that commitment to real-world solutions, is still what drives progress in industrial safety.
