Roxy was the runt of her litter, born with no eyes her future looked dim. Most defective dogs would be disposed of or discarded in a ditch somewhere. Roxy won my heart at such a young age, but could I help her in life? Would I be a suitable person to take care of a Special Needs Dog? Very quickly I learned that Roxy was showing me A life lesson and showing me what life was all about. Unconditional love proving to me the world is about abilities and not disabilities! Roxy has shown me to be fearless in this world, and that we can do ANY THING. Roxy guides me to believe in myself and that everything is possible, if you want it! Roxy is independent, loving, has graduated from agility, obedience as well is proving to be a remarkable Therapy Dog. She brings out the best in others when we visit Special Needs Classrooms or Nursing Homes. When others learn that Roxy is blind, they frown and say "Poor Thing”. Within minutes of being with her, the frown turn into smiles and the attitude that do anything is evident! This wee little 30Lb Border collie has shown me many things in life and continues to amaze me. I am no super hero for rescuing Roxy; she is the hero in her own story. She is the best little package that has ever come into my life, a real gift that I will cherish forever. She has a lifetime of teaching me new things, seeing the world through her heart. I am so grateful that she is in my life♡
