After Remembrance Day Reflection

Last week, we were honoured to welcome members of the Royal Canadian Legion who joined us in marking Remembrance Day. Their presence brought a deep sense of respect and gratitude to the day, reminding us of the sacrifices made by those who served and continue to serve our country.

The sound of the bagpipes filled the room — a moving tribute that touched everyone present and reminded us of the solemn importance of remembrance.

We thank the Legion members for taking the time to visit and share in this moment of reflection with us. Lest we forget. ❤️

Today, our hearts are full as we come together through the Poppy Project — a small but meaningful tribute to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Each poppy represents not just remembrance, but gratitude — for the bravery, the service, and the selflessness of those who came before us. Their courage allows us to live, dream, and build a better future.

This project was made possible through teamwork, love, and community spirit. 💕 Every hand that helped, every moment shared reminds us that when we come together, we can create something truly special.

While no gesture can ever fully repay the debt we owe, this is our small token of appreciation — a way to say we remember, and we are thankful. ❤️

🌿 A Wildly Wonderful Visit! 🌿

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Laurel Beechey and her adorable skunk friend Slider to The Tillsonburg Retirement Residence! 🦨💚

Laurel shared fascinating insights about wildlife rehabilitation, teaching us how caring for our local critters helps keep nature in balance. Residents loved meeting Slider and learning more about the important work that goes into helping injured and orphaned animals recover.

🎃👻 Halloween Fun at The Tillsonburg Retirement Residence! 👻🎃

From pumpkin decorating and creative costumes to a spooktacular parade from the adorable little ones at The Sonbeam Christian Daycare, our residents had a Halloween to remember! 🧡

The day was filled with laughter, treats, and plenty of festive spirit as both residents and staff showed off their best costumes. It’s moments like these that remind us how much joy comes from celebrating together — across all generations! 🕸️✨

Art has a special way of bringing people together—and our Tillsonburg residents have proven just that! 💫

This year, members of our community proudly took part in the Canada National Mural Mosaic Project, a coast-to-coast initiative uniting thousands of individual art pieces into one breathtaking national masterpiece. Each tile painted by our residents tells a unique story, filled with local pride, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness that defines Tillsonburg. Here is one of our residents showing her work to her family. Such community and pride is beautiful to see!

What makes this project so special is that every single brushstroke contributes to something bigger—symbolizing how every person plays a part in the rich, colorful tapestry of our country. From seasoned artists to first-time painters, our participants brought heart and imagination to every canvas.

We’re so proud to see Tillsonburg represented in this inspiring national collaboration. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who picked up a brush and helped put our town’s creativity on the map! 🎨❤️

If you’ve noticed the mysteriously self-lighting candles around the home lately, you’re not imagining things! 🔥

Our very own Della has officially taken on the enchanting role of Chief Candle Magician — making sure the candles are magically lit each morning and gently snuffed out at day’s end. 🪄

Thanks to Della’s daily touch of sparkle (and a little bit of stealth), our space feels just a bit more cozy and full of wonder. Who needs Hogwarts when we have Della? 💫

Whether you’re catching the game live, checking the score between meetings, or just rocking your favourite Blue Jays gear around the home, there’s no denying it—Blue Jays fever has taken over our team!

From home runs to double plays, our staff have been showing their support loud and proud. It’s been awesome to see Blue Jays caps, jerseys, and plenty of team spirit lighting up the workplace. There’s nothing like a little baseball energy to bring people together (and maybe spark some friendly banter along the way!).

As the Jays chase another big win, we’re cheering right alongside them—because whether it’s on the field or in the office, teamwork, hustle, and heart always make the difference.

🎃👻 Halloween Spirit Has Moved In! 👻🎃

We had a spook-tacular time decorating our retirement home for Halloween this year! From cobweb-covered corners to pumpkins on every porch, it’s safe to say the Halloween spirit is alive and well here — and maybe a ghost or two, too! 😄🕸️

There’s something magical about watching our cozy space transform into a festive fright zone (with plenty of laughs along the way). Whether it’s skeletons dancing by the door or witches flying across the windows, every little detail was made with love — and maybe a little mischief!

Come by if you dare — but don’t be surprised if we hand you candy and make you pose for photos! 🍬📸
