✨Meet Elisha✨
Elisha Galit is a practicum student currently completing her MA in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She holds a BA in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University. As a Filipino first-generation immigrant woman, her lived experiences inform her relational approach and commitment to culturally attuned, affirming care. For many years Elisha has supported 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and survivors of gendered violence through peer support, volunteer coordination, and direct service roles. These experiences continue to shape both her clinical work and her graduate research. Her thesis focuses on the lived experiences of aromantic individuals, with the goal of amplifying underrepresented voices and challenging narrow ideas of identity and belonging in mental health care. Elisha offers both in-person and virtual therapy under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Hallett, Psy.D.
She supports individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, identity exploration, and life transitions. She is especially passionate about working with 2SLGBTQIA+ clients and people from immigrant, racialized, or culturally diverse backgrounds. Her therapeutic work is grounded in deep respect for lived experience and a commitment to collaborative and responsive care. Her approach is integrative, client-centred, and trauma-informed. She draws from various evidence-based treatments, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and culturally responsive practices to support clients in moving through what matters most to them. Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or returning to it, Elisha strives to meet you where you are—with warmth, care, and curiosity.
