Have you been told by your child’s speech therapist to “say what your child would if they could” or INTERPRET their utterances as meaningful? Perhaps your child uses one highly rehearsed phrase or line from a show to communicate different messages. Our job as adults is to come up with our best guess as to what might be behind the child’s message, and model language. Want to practice this skill?
