Something different coming to the studio this April.

We're hosting Dr. Olivia Kulchyk, ND, MSCP for an intimate evening — Perimenopause & Menopause 101: What Your Body Wants You to Know.

Perimenopause is having a moment. But not everything is perimenopause — and even when it is, the conversation deserves to go deeper than what you've seen in your feed. Dr. Olivia brings a grounded, evidence-based perspective that actually helps women understand what's happening in their bodies and what they can do about it.

If you've been looking for a real conversation about this transition, this is it.

We aim to have trusted knowledge more accessible, empowering women to better understand and support their health. This is a sliding scale event ($5-$55) with all proceeds going to the Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto (NWRCT). Founded in 1985, NWRCT provides a safe, welcoming space for Indigenous women and their children across Toronto and the GTA. You can learn more about them at: nwrct.ca.

Some moments on the Chair today exploring how the springs can guide the body, not just challenge it.

Using the resistance as feedback, I tuned into my back extensors and allowed the movement to open through my spine. The split pedal gave space for gentle thoracic rotation, inviting a little more mobility and freedom through the upper back.

From there I played with subtle scapular isolations—those small, intentional movements that help us reconnect with strength and control around the shoulder girdle.

Finishing with pushes through the arms to light up the triceps while the scapulae stabilise and support the work. Try it and let me know what you think!

Today we celebrate the strength, heart, and spirit of the women who make this studio what it is. 🤍
As a female-led studio with an all-female team, it’s been such a privilege to work alongside truly incredible women. Every day I get to witness something special here, women lifting each other up, offering encouragement, and creating a space where everyone feels seen, supported, and part of something meaningful.
You continue to inspire me as you build strength, confidence, and friendships both on and off the reformer. The community that exists within these walls is something I’m deeply grateful for and never take for granted.
I feel so lucky to be surrounded by women who show up for themselves and for one another. Today, and every day, we celebrate you.

When I’m thinking about different ways to challenge the body in a side plank, I often look for ways to add movement without losing the stability underneath it.
In this Short Box flow on a blue spring, the supporting side does the heavy lifting. Shoulder and hip stability create the foundation while the core and obliques fire to lift the bottom leg. From there, we rotate through a pike and lengthen into the snake, asking the body to control both rotation and extension without losing that base of support. Instructor’s Favourite Prop: Weighted Toning Balls ✨

Lynne loves using weighted toning balls in her teaching, and here she’s showing them in a moving bridge on the reformer.

Adding a weighted ball to a single-arm opening creates an asymmetrical pull, which challenges your core stability in a completely new way. The goal? Keep the hips level, avoid dropping torso and pelvis towards the weighted side and let your deep core stabilisers + obliques work to find balance and symmetry.

It’s a subtle tweak with a big impact — strengthening the body while teaching it how to stay balanced under challenge.

Even small props like these can create a powerful “aha” moment in your practice.
