More sgraffito in ‘s class last night. Britt’s got a level of precision in her artistry that I’m sure I will never come close to, but I have still learned a bunch in her class (mostly about hand building not pictured here). But next week is all about glazing and decorating the five handbuilt pieces I made in the past three classes, so that presents more of an opportunity to leave my comfort zone.

This weather just called my attention back to knitting needles. I’m loving this very simple, stitch pattern: CO a multiple of 4 sts; k3, p1 to end. Rpt on WS.
I’ve got myself some Roma bulky merino + alpaca (100g/80m) and some US13 needles. CO’d 24 sts. Will I need all 3 balls, or will 2 suffice? We’ll see!

I’m taking a break from my quilting projects to sew some double sided napkins.
I’ve got a whole bunch of quilting cotton fabric that I really like but they’ve just never found the right fit in a quilt. Here’s a simple way to enjoy them on the regular instead of them sitting in my fabric cupboard any longer.

Each napkin is two 17” squares in coordinating fabrics (that are busy enough to hopefully not show up small stains over time) to make 16” napkins.

🆕 3 Layer Masks are here!
If you’ve watched my two most recent videos 🎥 , you’ll know that it’s taken some work to find a way to make three-layer masks work with this pleated design. There was no sense in adding a layer if the masks no longer fit so wonderfully on our faces. •
These masks, like all my masks, have an inner layer of high thread-count certified* cotton so you can feel good about having it up against your face. The exterior fabric is a beautiful print, also 100% cotton. •

The middle layer is lightweight 100% nonwoven polyester interfacing developed by Therm O Web in collaboration with The Masks Now Coalition. Excitingly, it’s machine washable and safe to iron.

3-Layer Masks are $22 each and the same cost to ship in Canada ($3 for up to 4 masks).

Handmade with care and attention to detail by me.

Oeko-Tex certification, while not “organic” ensures that no harmful chemicals were used in the production, processing or finishing of the fabric.

These babies are 2 layers of high-thread count 100% cotton, the inner layer of which is certified to be free of >100 chemicals known to be harmful to humans.

The nose wire allows for a better fit with glasses. Pleats gives more room for talking without the mask sliding down your face.

New Year, new masks! If you don’t yet have beautiful ones you feel good about wearing, let’s fix that.

❤️ Made from 2 layers of high-quality quilting cotton pre-washed in ecological detergent + new super soft elastic ear loops with toggles!
🧡 Fits well around the bridge of the nose with its shape and wire (making it more accommodating of glasses-wearing), plus the pleats give room for your jaw to move when you talk without the mask sliding down your face!
💛 Made with care by a mama who’s been negatively financially impacted by the pandemic (me)!

It's not the most seamless process (pardon the pun) but forgoing a website for this small-scale offering is the simplest way for me to manage at this point.

1. Choose the mask(s) you'd like, and comment on the post where it's listed. I'll respond to confirm availability. All masks are $20, kids masks are $18 each if you get 3 or more.

2. Send me a message to let me know if you'd like to pick up in Roncesvalles or the Beaches (I'll send you the address), or sent by mail ($3 for 1-2 masks).
