This fund is being organized for Gitaben Patel who was hit by a speeding pick-up truck on the morning of 26th Jan.

She is critically injured with multiple fractures in her body:
1. Fractured Pelvis
2. Fractured Left Leg
3. Fractured right Knee
4. Both elbows
5. 8 Broken Ribs
6. Fractured Collar Bone
7. Several bruises / cuts

She has been admitted to the Jersey City Medical Center ICU where she is undergoing treatment. Due to fractured ribs her lung is impacted and she is currently on ventilator and has already undergone multiple surgeries. There is no estimated timeline when she will be discharged from hospital. It could be more than a month in hospital bed.

Gitaben used to help us with our cooking and baby sitting needs.She comes from a humble background and this unfortunate incident has put her entire family in dire financial and emotional state.
As per the doctors she would not be able to stand up on her feet for atleast 4-5 months after the discharge from hospital.She would have rehabilitation costs for atleast 6 months and 24 hours caregiver attendance.

We may not be able to compensate for the lifelong impairment she has to live with but atleast we would like to help her out of this financial crisis by contributing with open hearts. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The victim was hit on New County Road at Riverside Station Boulevard just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
