🦓 Menopause & Bone Health šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

Did you know we can lose about 1 to 2 percent of our bone density each year as we approach and move through menopause. Some women may lose up to 20 percent in the first five to seven years after their final period, when bone loss happens at a faster rate.

Estrogen plays a major role in maintaining bone density. As estrogen starts to fall, we’re more prone to bone loss in perimenopause and menopause, so it’s really important to do whatever we can to support bone health as we enter into this stage of life.

You used to love going out. Now you cancel plans, avoid crowds, and wonder what happened to you. Nobody told you social anxiety is a symptom of menopause.

In our symptoms survey with over 5,200 women, my team and I at Morphus identified 103 symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. And social anxiety is one of them. In fact, 44% of the women who filled out our survey reported experiencing it.

Here’s what’s actually happening: When estrogen drops, it affects serotonin and dopamine, the brain chemicals responsible for mood, confidence, and how safe you feel in social situations.
