🏃🏼‍♀️Are you working out? Even for just 10-15 min everyday?
🧘🏽Are you meditating? Or giving yourself some alone time to clear some thoughts?

What can honey do for us? 🍯🐝

From the Eastern medicine perspectives, natural quality honey gives you an energy and immunity boost that lasts longer than a simple sugar rush (and less the sugar crash)

Honey from local farm carries components of local pollens,
which means if you have seasonal allergies, it is a yummy option to boost your immune system for seasonal changes.

Honey with ginger and lemon is also a great remedy for those days that you feel weaker or under the weather. It’s also a great morning or evening drink to substitute your coffees.

Honey can also be incorporated into your beauty regiment. As honey has antibacterial, moisturizing and energy boosting properties, combining with other skin “food” (I.e lemon, yogurt, ground black sesame, egg) or on it’s own makes an excellent, cost effective and natural mask that leaves your skin rejuvenated and moisturized.

Honey is also a great substitute for refined sugar and simple syrup, it adds a dimension of flavours to your treats! 🥞

Honey can also be used as a binding agent for herbal pills to make herbal remedies 100% natural and convenient for intake.

Do be mindful of allergies to honey and over-indulgence, as too much of anything can cause imbalance in your body.

Overall, honey is a great staple to your pantry and substitute for other refined products!

Do you use honey often? On what? Where do your source your quality honey? What other benefits of honey have we missed? Share with us in comments!

Selflessness is not just what you think it is, it’s not only about being “giving”.

Today we talk about selflessness. According to Taoism, selflessness is about letting go of the sense of self - our ego.

The moment we became aware of ourselves was the moment we became our own harshest critics. We are always bounded by the concept of good vs. bad and try to act accordingly in order to avoid judgements or get positive recognitions. But if you take a step back from all these superficial components, letting go will free you of baggages and hence less stress - longevity is achieved. 🧘🏽

When you try to meditate today, focus on letting go of your ego, dig deeper and find a spot where you don’t even recognize the sense of self, that’s where you will find breakthrough and enlightenment.

The next time you act selflessly, try to be more aware of your thoughts and motives. Are you truly being selfless because the Tao (I.e unconscious natural instinct, more about that later) moves you to do so? Or are you motivated by more tangible things like how others perceive you or how you perceive yourself?

Why do Asian people drink warm water and beverages all the time?

(That is also their secret to keep youthful skin and body)
Your body temperature is 37C/98F, ice/cold water is around/below 10C/50F. So you are basically shocking your body and making your body work by having to warm it up before the body can take it as nutrients.

If you really can’t stand the taste of warm water, room temperature is fine, or try herbal tea - they are non caffeinated so you can still properly hydrate yourself.

There is an EXCEPTION though!

When it is very hot out or if you are feeling unbearably hot, you can def help yourself to a cold drink to help you cool down.

That said, if cold drinks will help you feel better from a long day, then enjoy it, and enjoy it like a treat so you are not taking cold drinks "for granted".

We will continue to build more helpful content in our KNOWLEDGE section (link in bio), so you can enlighten yourself and become healthier!

What is Tao(ism) and who is Lao Tzu?

There are so much pop culture references to Taoism and zen "ah-ha” quotes from Lao Tzu, but what else do you know about them?

🎐Taoism道 is a philosophy on “the way” of life/living. It teaches people to let go and try to find balance and peace by doing so. Many “successful” people go by this philosophy when they do their meditations and achieve breakthroughs and epiphanies.

There are many interpretations and school of thoughts about Taoism, but my goal is to bring you a topic from Tao every now and then. By pondering on it, hopefully you can achieve some breakthrough and unlock some blockages/unload some baggages.

As for Lao Tzu 老子 👲🏻, he is basically the father of Taoism, he wrote Tao Te Ching道德經, which is referenced by thousands of people everyday for spiritual guidance. (Spiritual here has no religious implication, think more along the line of "soul searching")

will focus on intro-reflection and mental health. I am also on the same learning journey as spiritual growth is a never ending lesson - this is simply a space to share and inspire.

Is there any topic about mental health and soul searching that you want to talk about in particular?

Looking forward to sharing more with you every week 💆

🌼Chrysanthemum (a close cousin, but tastier version of chamomile) a great herbal caffeine free tea for everyone.🌼

Not only is it tasty, it’s also got cooling property that is especially good for the liver and eye. 👁

Meaning: if you have irritations in the eyes/bloodshot eyes, a throbby headache or had a big night of drinking or feel stress and irritable, some chrysanthemum tea will help calm the symptoms.

There are many types of chrysanthemum 菊花, baby ones (like the ones in this picture) are fairly mild and safe to use for everyone. Whereas wild chrysanthemum 野菊花is stronger in clearing toxins + heat and should be used sparingly.

Full article about different types of chryansathmum to come, meanwhile, brew yourself some and even have it iced on a hot summer day!

Have you tasted chrysanthemum tea before? I always brew my patients some when they visit me, because it’s safe and effective for calming and regulating the body, perfect for flushing out toxins right after a treatment.
