Did you know CPR can be performed on pets too? 🐾

The fundamentals are very similar to human CPR. Chest compressions, rescue breaths, and keeping blood and oxygen moving until help is available.

For dogs and cats, compressions are done at a steady pace with the animal lying on its side, and breaths are delivered mouth to snout. The rhythm stays familiar at 30 compressions followed by 2 breaths.

If CPR is already part of your skill set, you are closer than you think to being able to help your pet in an emergency.

CPR IN SPACE ?! 🚀

🇨🇦 Canada’s very own Jeremy Hansen demonstrated how CPR works in zero gravity during the Artemis mission as they fly around the moon 🌕�

In space, you have to stabilize yourself and anchor the person receiving care, so technique alone is not enough. Specific locations inside the spacecraft have already been identified where CPR can be performed effectively. It’s a great reminder that real preparedness comes from planning ahead for situations you hope never happen. 🧑🏼‍🚀👨🏻‍🚀

When something goes wrong, nobody says, “At least we were technically compliant.”

First aid kits can meet CSA requirements and still fail under stress. An AED can be on the wall but not maintained. Training can be completed but not retained.

Compliance is the baseline, not the goal.
