Our Three New Years by Cynthia Cheng Mintz (and illustrations by yours truly) is available for purchase now in ebook, paperback and hard cover format at https://books.friesenpress.com/store/title/119734000347144872/Cynthia-Cheng-Mintz-Our-Three-New-Years%21

Tory and Andy are five-year-old twins who celebrate not one, not two, but THREE different New Years! See how the twins and their family celebrate Lunar New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and the end of the calendar year—especially the different yummy foods they eat. Meet Mommy and Daddy, Poh Poh and Gung Gung, and Bubbe and Zayde, as well as cousins, aunts, and uncles in this fun story about a modern interfaith and interethnic family. Told from the twins’ perspective, this story puts a unique spin on tradition. How many New Years do YOU celebrate?

About the Author:
Cynthia Cheng Mintz loved writing when she was young, and won several writing prizes while in high school. She has a bachelor’s degree in drama and history, and earned a master’s degree from the University of Toronto. She has travelled to several parts of the world, including Hong Kong, which is her parents’ homeland. She lives in Toronto with her husband Adam and their son. As part of an interfaith and interethnic family, they celebrate three New Years (among other holidays), just like Tory and Andy.

About the Illustrator:
Sari Richter is an Ancaster-born artist, author, and illustrator living and working in Toronto. She earned a bachelor of drawing and painting from the OCAD University, and a master’s certification from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. She enjoys working and creating artwork with children, especially her two daughters, Rosalind and Maxine “the Bean.” Sari is passionate about raising a Jewish family with holiday celebrations and traditions, and loves learning about other cultures through travel and first-hand experiences.
