⁉️What’s in your salt?⁉️💣

Salt in itself should be limited for well known reasons, but did you know that many time “table salt” has additives? Like this one in the picture below has SODIUM THIOSULPHATE. Sounds like a fancy name for salt except it’s a chemical that causes irritation in the gastrointestinal tract and may lead to inflammation. Calcium silicate doesn’t sound too tasty either.

If you are using salt, better make sure it’s sea salt or Himalayan salt and no other additives or you may be unknowingly adding fire to the flame. Better yet use more anti-inflammatory spices to decrease the need for salt. 🥗🧄🌶

Speaking of barberry, I found this recipe which looks delicious. And it combines barberry and turmeric in one. Great to sooth inflammation.

How do you like your barberry?

Other ideas are to have them in yogurt, smoothies, oatmeal. Would love to hear your ideas.

Have you heard of barberry?

Berberine (an extract from barberry) promotes recovery of DSS-induced colitis. It mitigates weight loss, shortening of the colon, intestinal injury and inflammation. The researchers demonstrated the berberine reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine levels.

I would like to thank Dr. Zelenko for his discovery. Not only his discovery saved many lives for people who had Covid, but what I'm learning more and more is that the same vitamin regime is extremely helpful for autoimmune diseases (I would suppose this is not limited to Crohn's and Colitis).

A study found that supplementing with only 2,000 IU/day of vitamin D a day reduced autoimmune disease by 22%. (see link below)

There are multiple studies linking Crohn's/colitis disease to zinc deficiency.

There are studies that demonstrated that dietary quercetin could ameliorate experimental colitis.
Many Crohn's/Colitis patients are deficient in vitamin C either due to lower intake of fruits and vegetables, or poor absorption. Studies have proven that supplementing with Vitamin C improves T-cell function.

Take your Zstack!

Objective To investigate whether vitamin D and marine derived long chain omega 3 fatty acids reduce autoimmune disease risk. Design Vitamin D and omega 3 trial (VITAL), a nationwide, randomized, double blind, placebo controlled trial with a two-by-two factorial design. Setting Nationwide in the Unit...

“Obesity in adulthood was associated with a 34% increase in IBD risk.” Another study suggests that obesity influences burden of disease and treatment in IBD. I will attach some study links below.

Obesity is also a major risk factor for complications from COVID.

Nutrition and lifestyle choices can greatly help to reduce obesity.

It is absolutely imperative to continue to support your immune system regardless of your vaccine status because:

#1. Immunocompromised individuals do not produce sufficient immune response to the vaccine.

#2. Vaccine benefit wanes over time.

#3. Breakthrough infection rates are much higher than originally anticipated.

#4. New variants find their way around the vaccine

#5. No testing has been done on how many booster shots a person can handle.

I can go on but the point is, please continue to support your immune system!

5. Close the jar.
6. Open and close the lid to release air once a day
7. Wait about a week then transfer to the fridge.

These lightly sautéed peppers with kale is loaded with vitamin C, A, K, B plus more! Add a little turmeric and black pepper and increase its anti-inflammatory properties even more!

Recipe:
Sauté onions
Add garlic (or you can instead add it at the end to preserve the antibacterial/antiviral properties of garlic)
