Completing daily tasks can feel overwhelming when living with chronic pain, fatigue, heart conditions, shortness of breath, or other conditions.

⏱️ Pacing your activities can help you take back control. By balancing activity and rest, you can prevent flare-ups, reduce pain, and gradually build endurance. Start small by tracking your “uptime” and “downtime” — learn more in the post!

💡 Tip: Consistent pacing helps your body gradually do more while reducing recovery time.

For personalized support, an Occupational Therapist (OT) can create a pacing plan tailored to you. Call us today 📞 416-548-7872

🌟 Meet Amanda, one of our dedicated Occupational Therapists at Health Bound! 🌟

"I have always had a passion for health care and helping others feel better and achieve their goals. I was drawn to occupational therapy because it combines my interest in anatomy and physiology with a generalist approach to healthcare, allowing me to develop knowledge across a wide range of areas. I also value the client-centered nature of the profession and the opportunity to work one-on-one with my clients, build strong therapeutic rapport, and collaborate closely with them to achieve meaningful goals.

My favourite part of being an occupational therapist is getting to know my clients and being their advocate for equipment and services that can get them closer to their goals. As well as providing strategies and tools they can use in their daily lives to overcome personal and environmental barriers. I value the opportunity to advocate for my clients and serve as a sounding board for their concerns. Instead of focusing solely on short-term outcomes, I prioritize goals that reflect what the client genuinely wants, not only what is deemed necessary from a clinical standpoint.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors and playing games that challenge my brain like chess, escape rooms, and word puzzles."
