Often times as parents, we may choose to overlook or ignore when our children do wrong—perhaps out of love, fear, or not wanting to upset them. But the truth is, avoiding correction is not love—it is neglect.
As parents, God has given us the responsibility to guide, teach, and correct our children in love. Correction is not about tearing them down, but about building them up, shaping their character, and helping them grow into who God has called them to be.
📖 “Train up a child in the way he should go…” — Proverbs 22:6
📖 “He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.” — Proverbs 13:24
Correction should come with patience, wisdom, and conversation—not anger. When we take time to explain, guide, and lovingly correct, we are planting seeds of righteousness in their hearts.
A child who is not properly mentored may go astray, but a child who is guided with love and truth will stand strong.
Let us not watch our children derail under our care. Let us rise to our responsibility with grace and wisdom.
🙏 May our children not go astray under our watch, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
