At The Going Down Of The Sun And In The Morning We Will Remember You!
George,
I will never forget you my brother! You were one of the most " Solid" (Chimo phrase) soldiers i ever knew, you were a mold for it. You were a true family man with a military career, I wish I could have been more like you! If I couldnt get enough of you at Battalion, we'd do landscaping work for Boondog. You were always doing things to help your family.
When I learned of your passing, the first thing that came to mind, was when we both grieved the loss of a loved one. I remembered the day we were disbanded, and how it effected us. I remember something we did in silent Protest. I Love you my brother.
I want to say we were told of the dream you had, about consciousness, and how the body is the vessel for it (hopefully remembered correctly). I really appreciated hearing that, because it feels to me that is how it is, it was very re-assuring. If that is the case than you were with us yesterday and seen all of your old comrades. It was like a reunion for the Canadian Airborne Regiment, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, Loyal Edmonton Regiment, and all other trades and units. Your family, and Jimmy, John, Tony, Derrick, Herb did an incredible job to celebrate your life. The Amazing Grace by the bagpipes and drummer at the end was nothing short of the finest job ever done. Goosebumps from stem to stern, top to bottom, absolutely amazing job. They even had the bugler. Thanks to Andy Social for sending me the pictures. You were truly celebrated like the warrior and family man you were!
Love and remember you forever. ❤️
My Life For You, Airborne!
