Oooof, the world. The world is a lot.

And this week, in our reading, we are asked to keep our focus on what we can affect.

It doesn’t mean to ignore the world, and the things going on in it. Just don’t drain too much energy away from what you CAN do and the things that you CAN change, the ways that you CAN impact people.

And then strive to do THOSE things well.

In the slice of world that you are responsible for, how can you be a benevolent ruler?

How can you work hard in this place while still taking good care of yourself?

How can you use what you have to extend care to others?

What do you need to sort out this week so that things are in order and running smoothly?

Whatever scale you are working at, do your best to be consistent, reliable, steady, and practical. You have the ability to do great things, and care for others through that work along the way.

It’s your Imbolc Full Moon community reading!

This message feels perfect for Imbolc, the time of resting within the womb of winter: just pause.

Let yourself rest and be still.

This rest must come from you, be chosen by you.

There’s an understanding that yes, there is more, you will do more, change and transformation are coming.

And right now, let yourself be still before that time comes. Collect yourself back up. Catch your breath.

Imbolc says: yes, spring is coming!

AND, right now, it’s still winter.

Let yourself find some coziness. Tend to yourself sweetly.

Can you invite yourself, at least for a time, to be a cat in the warm lap of your life?

Happy Imbolc!

It’s the Celtic festival date that marks the mid point between the Winter Solstice (the start of winter) and the Spring Equinox (the start of spring)!

There are a few variations on interpretations of what the name “Imbolc” means or is best translated as. The most common is “in the belly” in reference to the sheep being pregnant with the promise of spring lambs.

It’s a time to be with the heart of winter, while also knowing that spring is coming, drawing near.

What are WE gestating, so to speak, through these last 6 weeks or so of winter?

It’s the “quickening” of the year. We are now tilted towards the spring!

And yet it’s not here yet - let us still make ourselves spaces in the stillness as we’re able, to nest into the belly of the winter a little more.

It feels potent that this year’s Imbolc arrives with the full moon!

And you know what means… Your community reading is coming up. :)

First quarter moon community reading.

🌓🐂✨

There is SO much pain and violence in the world right now.

Let yourself FEEL this.

A lot of people are feeling grief-stricken, scared, enraged, overwhelmed, depressed…

And I’ve heard some admit to it, like it’s somehow weak of them to let the intensity of the world get to them.

I tell them that I’m glad that their humanity is intact enough to be rocked in this way.

I don’t wish for anyone to feel overwhelmed or depressed, scared or angry, shaken or deeply sad.

And also, what if these are the only responses that make sense right now?

I would in some ways be more worried for someone who feels fine - as if the current state of the world isn’t that big a deal.

We’re all in this mess together.

LET. YOURSELF. FEEL. THIS.

Be with your grief. Be with the grief of the world.

Let yourself touch into it, in some amount.

It’s okay that it’s big. It’s okay if you don’t know what to do with it right now.

Start by feeling it.

Cry. Write. Yell.

Come back into your tender, human self.

You are not a productivity machine.

You are a feeling member of this human community, and we are sharing so much ache and rage right now.

Be human. Don’t hide from the hurt. Let it move through you. Let it inform you.

Action is needed, and paralysis is understandable but not helpful. Feel to get out of the freeze.

Let yourself feel this!!

Let yourself be changed.

New moon community reading. 🌚✨

It’s a time for more self care and less trying to figure everything out.

More coming back to our bodies and caring for them, not just to meet our base needs, but to do so (and then some) in enjoyable ways.

It’s time for us to love ourselves up the way we might care for someone else whom we care deeply about.

How does it land for you?

(I sure needed to hear this one! How ‘bout you guys?)

🥀Memories of root-bound beings, eating sunlight and turning it into dancing colours atop pedestals of green

Now dry and holding a wilted impression of their former shape

Still boasting beauty from their stiffened delicate forms.

Can you let them go, trusting in the new season of blooming to come?

Imbolc is the mid-winter Group Tarot Ritual, and this is the ritual magic we will lean into this time.

We release, we trust, we hope.

We make ourselves cozy and wait patiently.

Community reading time!

It’s the last quarter moon, which is a time of wrapping things up, calming down, and not necessarily of starting new ventures.

This week’s cards are grand - no small potatoes here!

Early in the new year as we are, this week’s reading reflects on where we are in our lives, and who we really are.

🌟 The Star reminds us that we are become more and more ourselves, and to not seek out that exciting feeling of starting anew as a way to avoid the edginess of being where we are now.

🃏 The Fool in this placement reminds us that seeking the shiny and new can be an avoidance tactic.

We are called to practicing embodying the most newly evolved version of ourselves. To live it with integrity.

This most updated version of you is hard-earned.

Make the lessons you’ve learned along the way STICK by applying them now, and affirming to yourself who you are - not the old you, but the learning, growing, raw and honest you.

Learn in, and be more yourself than you were yesterday.

Happy New Year!

The Hermit card just popped up to remind us to take it easy as we gently ease our way into 2026.

It’s a dark and cold time of year. It’s natural to need and want more sleep - don’t pathologize it or call yourself lazy. This is a natural need and a simple response to the lack of sunlight, and is just how our circadian rhythms work.

To fight it is to fight yourself.

Respect the schedule of the sun. At this time of year, it goes to bed early, and we would do well to take our cue there.

I know that’s not easy for everyone - I will stay up hours later than I mean to chasing a cascade of one-last-thing’s.

If you keep the lighting in your space dim and red-shifted in the evenings, it can help your nervous system stay calm and attuned to your natural rhythms better.

♥️

Wishing you all cozy socks, good books to read, quiet moments sprinkled through your days, deep breaths, and earlier bedtimes. ❤️😴🧸✨

Surprise! I recorded an extra community reading for the holidays.

…Once again after a gig when I hardly have a voice left. 😋

Turns out the reminder is to pause the hustle and bustle when we can, and find some time for ourselves at some point over the holidays.

Shocking. 🙄

But often useful to hear it again! 🙂

So, just a reminder to pause to breathe, rest, plan for some downtime when you’re able.

If you don’t have a day you can block off, or a whole afternoon or evening, 20 minutes counts! And is way better than nothing.

Here’s to you finding some balance this season. ✨✨✨
