As October rolls in, it's a great time to get your garden ready for winter. Start by planting bulbs and cool-season crops, and don't forget to divide your perennials. Cleaning up the garden is also key—get rid of any dead or diseased plants and tidy up the beds. Enrich your soil with some compost and a layer of mulch. Keep harvesting those last summer crops and consider planting garlic, spring-flowering bulbs, trees, and shrubs. Adding compost or leaf mold to your beds now will give your soil a nice boost for the next season.

Eating from your own garden has many benefits. You'll enjoy fresher and healthier food, save money, and help the environment. Gardening is also a great way to get some physical exercise and reduce stress.

Seal oil is renowned for its high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, including EPA, DHA, and the unique DPA, which support overall health, particularly cardiovascular, brain, and cognitive function. People take seal oil for various benefits, such as improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and enhanced mental health. Some studies even suggest it can boost athletic performance and offer potential advantages for seniors and pets. As a mammal-derived oil, seal oil is considered more easily absorbed by the human body than fish oil.

Discover the benefits of sage!

Read full Blog - https://cherylmillett.com/the-herb-sage/

This remarkable herb is packed with vital nutrients like vitamin K, iron, and vitamin B6. Consuming just a teaspoon can provide 10% of your daily vitamin K. Sage is also rich in over 160 polyphenols that help combat inflammation, cancer, and nerve issues. A mere two cups daily can make a significant difference.

Sage supports oral health, potentially aiding your mouth and jaw as you age. It may also alleviate menopause symptoms by helping balance hormones. For individuals with diabetes, sage can assist in regulating blood sugar levels—just remember to monitor your medication.

Additionally, sage benefits brain health and memory, particularly through sage extract. For gut health, it can help soothe the digestive system and alleviate diarrhea. Lastly, sage promotes healthy skin and has anti-aging properties. Share these benefits with your friends and loved ones and consider incorporating sage into your regular routine!

The Herb Sage - Sage who? Not who but what.

The herb sage is a plant that has been grown for thousands of years, honestly, sage may have been here since the beginning of plants.

Latin word ‘salvare’ means to save or heal. Ever consume sage tea?! Tasty. For most of my life, sage is valued for its aroma and flavour in turkey stuffing. Now I will put it in tea and use the herb sage to make soup broths. As I walk the farm, I chew on a sage leaf. Will it bring me wisdom?!

Life Mentoring helps you if you are struggling or reacting to something going on in your life

It is my desire to open space for more and more peace in our world. Who would entertain ‘Life Mentoring’? If you are a person that struggles with one or more of these areas in your life then ‘Life Mentoring’ may be for you: relationships, self-doubt, monkey mind, finances, happiness, health, sleeping, addictive habits, and sadness. There will be situations in which a qualified practitioner or medical doctor would initially be best to engage such as with mental illness or a broken bone. My work would complement the medical and diagnosis. If you are a person that is currently being treated by a doctor, then we can first talk to see if I can assist you. Contact me for a complimentary online 15-minute consultation.

We need an inflammatory response to heal and detoxify. An inflammatory response in an injury is the swelling, redness and heat – initial health saving response and healing. A fever which is burning away that which doesn’t belong is our bodies and our body’s natural response to foreign microbes. Burn baby burn! A fever that is. Appreciate a fever and keep hydrated.

Most, if not all of us, have eaten fish, poultry, and/or meat in our life. If vegan, you have consumed vegetable and nut oils, perhaps coconut oil or olive oil. Fats or lipids or fatty acids is all around us! Pun intended as every cell membrane in our body is mostly put together with lipids (a lipid bilayer).

At this micro level, the cell membrane has been said to be the brain of the cell; letting things in the cell, keeping things out, keeping things in, letting things out.

On a macro level, fats support every system in the body especially the brain and nervous system. Our brain runs our body. No fat, think dry skin. Water hydrates. Fat lubricates. Both keep things flowing and functioning optimally.
