What are the actions you take in forming a healthy and calming routine?

Do you take time out of your day to really take care of YOU?

These are the things you want to ask yourself when really diving into what your body needs.

Listen to the needs of your mind body and soul. They are the guides into telling you what path you should be walking.

🦋 YOUR BODY IS A MIRACLE 🦋

My entire life I have hid behind the fact I am so uncomfortable with my body.

Constantly looking in the mirror in disgust. Never like looking at myself without clothes.

Every time I’d sit I’d constantly be fixing my outfit making sure no bulge was showing.

Since I was a little girl, I sucked in. I made sure no one knew what I was carrying.

And you know what, I’m sure no one would care. But I did.

Constantly judging myself, comparing myself to others.

“Why don’t I look like that”
“Why can’t I be skinny”

Enough is enough.

We are so stuck in living our lives looking at what others are doing, we forget what WE should be doing.

And that’s loving ourselves.

I decided to take a moment. To really be grateful for my body.

My body is a temple. It’s my saving grace

My body helped me heal through addiction

My body helped me survived when I was starving myself

My body signalled when I needed rest

My body expands as I give it fuel showing we are well fed.

My body is made to give life to another human. Literally being able to carry a freakin baby in there.

My body healed when I gave it scars.

My body is beautiful. My body has been through enough damage and deserves to be treated right.

I challenge you to look at yourself in the mirror right now. Hold the spot you are most uncomfortable with, and say

“Body, you are beautiful. You are worthy. I thank you for all that you’ve done and all that you’ll do. I am grateful for you protecting me and healing me. Thank you. I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me”

Have you ever felt disappointment?

Like when you thought you knew something but it all came crashing down.

Did you have an expectation of someone?

But got mad because they didn’t “obey” what you thought was “right”.

Expectations lead to disappointment. Why? Because expectations are a projection of our own with lack of communication.

If you EXPECT something without the other knowing. How do you think that works?

It doesn’t.

Before letting your emotions take over when someone doesn’t do what you want, ask yourself

“Did I communicate what is needed?”

If the answer is no. This is when you can look within and really assess the why and the how.

Why didn’t you let them know? How are you going to address it?

Communication is a force. Without it we bring silence, anger, aggravation and frustration.

It’s okay to have some expectations, especially within yourself but when having them towards others. Remember to assess and address before reacting.

How we should treat ourselves.

We get lost in the world of chaos, that when it comes down to it. All we remember is the negative aspect of things.

This is your reminder to be compassionate towards yourself. Whatever it may be you’re going through, you are going through it and that is okay.

You have overcome or are overcoming a new obstacle in life. Don’t let anyone take that away from you.

Be present with what you’re going through
Ask yourself what it is you may need
Allow yourself to feel
Be open to others that you can’t exert your energy into things that may not align with you
Show yourself the love and awareness for what you have gone through

Don’t shove the emotion under the rug as emotions are our guidance in life.

A hard pill to swallow

Such an uncomfortable feeling saying “NO” especially when you’re a “yes” individual or someone who has tendencies of people pleasing.

These behaviours stem from something deep within, usually a fear or something deeper. Everyone has their differences as to why this behaviour arises.

As I’m in my sobriety journey a HUGE thing for me to learn is to say no.

No to drugs
No to alcohol
No to outings that will not purpose my journey
No to people in other words letting go of the things I can no longer allow into my life.

You have to let go of a lot. It almost feels like you’re alone, but the way you have to look at it is that you are like a re born person. You are breaking the energy that was harming you and entering a new way of living.

Just like growing up all over again, but now you know a little bit more about the world.

You know what you enjoy, you know the sh*tty situations that occur, how people act and so on.

It’s a scary feeling and it seems like it would be easier to go back into our old ways, but just know once you find your path and learn to work through those old emotions and thoughts and be alone. It is one hell of a beautiful experience.

Yes I still feel alone at times, but I’m entering a new level and have learned it’s okay to take some time just for you and really work on yourself.

I can assure you this community is larger than you may know, so again. Reach out. Search local groups if you feel you need someone to talk to, therapy is a good thing and if you are in need of any medical or serious attention - please call your local help line and see what options are out there for you.

And again, it’s okay to say no. It’s okay to not go out. It’s okay to focus on YOU.

All journeys are beautiful , but they aren’t easy. Take it one day at a time.

Intention setting!

No more “New Year New Me”

It’s the same you but different intentions. We shouldn’t be degrading ourselves by saying “new me”, each version of you is beautiful and you just evolve!

When setting an intention it is good to have a clear head and really see and believe what you want to achieve. Where do you want to go? What do you want to accomplish within this year?

If you are just beginning a business, just started a new job, started working on a new art piece, decided you want to focus on your health and fitness, whatever it is.

Write it down
Say it out loud
Be proud of it

Once you have set your intention, set action steps

How are you going to achieve this?
What steps are you going to take to work towards your intention?

Remember this is YOUR intention, so you take however long you need and do not compare yourself to anyone but your old self.

New year new beginnings! Or just extending the beginnings that have started recently!

How are you all feeling? Honestly I sometimes feel like I’m in a dream. If you had told me I’d be where I am today a couple years ago, I’d never believe yah.

I honestly saw nothing moving forward just a dead end. It’s such an amazing feeling to have purpose once again.

Entering this year, I have let go of things that do not serve me purpose, people too and also negative thoughts that were stalling me from shooting to the stars.

I thank you all who have walked this journey with me this far and welcome everyone who may begin to enter.

My hope was to form a community where all feel welcomed and safe. We stand together and are not alone. Whether you are unsure of your path, figuring it out, or have an idea. I am here with you.

This is a space where I’ll be sharing personal life, education, entertainment, entrepreneurship and more.

We will be talking mental health, addiction, mindset, wellness and the opportunities that are outside our regular norm.

As a neurodivergent, I always knew my passion didn’t lye in the hands of one path. I was meant to be here and work in many ways with you all.

I am so grateful to walk into this year with passion, opportunities and confidence. Most of all hope.

Here’s to another chapter. Another year of learning curves and success. Another moment of big and small wins.

Here’s to us. Celebrating and walking alongside this oddly earth together.

May your year to come be full of all you’ve ever hoped for.

Holidays can be a very activating time, whether you are dealing with grief, mental illness, addiction, recovery, etc.

It is good to have a plan when entering the holidays, especially if you are about to see Aunty Jane who constantly wants to talk about the fact she doesn’t understand why you are sober (random scenario).

Your journey should be your priority and if something doesn’t feel right, it is okay to step away from the situation in order to save your health.

These are just a few tips on how to survive the holidays and most of all just being there for yourself.

Take care and just know you are worthy of your own choices, so don’t let others actions get in your way.

If you are feeling like you are alone, just know you are not.

Don’t have someone to talk to? Please reach out during these times and most of all know there are international online zoom meetings or you can find one in your local city/town.

May you have a peaceful time with your loved ones
