You can build tech confidence at any age—one calm step at a time.

Tech wasn’t built to feel simple for everyone. Learning it later, on your own terms, takes patience and repetition.
If you keep showing up—curious, willing, and steady—you will get there. That’s what confidence looks like.

She came in unsure what a PDF was. She left having scanned, saved, and shared one.

That’s a real session from this week. No rush—just one person, one skill, and the quiet satisfaction of doing it independently.
Small wins like this are what I.T.-DPG is built on. Every step counts.

Quick tip: when you save a document, put the date at the front of the file name.
Example: 2026-03-01 Insurance Letter or 2026-03-01 Ontario Health Card

It sorts automatically, it’s easy to search, and you can spot the newest version right away.

Shirley found the document. Don found seventeen copies of the document.

Don meant well. He saved it to the desktop, the downloads folder, a USB stick, and emailed it to himself “just in case.”
Shirley has one folder. One file. Labelled clearly. Don is still scrolling. There’s a lesson here somewhere.

You didn’t forget how to do it. The update changed where everything lives.

Apps update. Layouts change. Buttons move. And something that used to feel simple can suddenly feel unfamiliar.
That’s how tech works now. You’re doing fine. We’re here to help you stay steady and confident—one step at a time.

02/27/2026

You don’t need to know how it works. You just need to know what to do.

Nobody asks you to understand a car engine before they hand you the keys.
Tech can be the same. You learn the steps that get you where you’re going — not the engineering behind them.
That’s what we teach: calm, clear, and at your pace. You’re more capable than the technology makes you feel.

Small win: she set up her own voicemail greeting. First time. Age 71. She did it herself.

She’d been using the default “the person you called is unavailable” message for years because nobody had shown her how to change it.
Twenty minutes, one session, done.
Small thing. Big feeling. That’s calm control in real life.

One setting. Two minutes. Your phone stops interrupting dinner.

Do Not Disturb is one of the most helpful features on any phone — and one of the least used.
You can set it to turn on automatically, let important calls through, and silence everything else.
Once it’s set up, it runs on its own. We’ll walk you through it step by step.

Shirley has discovered she can talk to her phone. Don is concerned.

Shirley, calmly: “Call Margaret.”
Phone, helpfully: “Calling Mark.”
Don: “Who’s Mark?”
Shirley: “I have no idea.”

Voice commands are useful. They just occasionally have opinions of their own.
We’ll show you how to make them listen — calm steps, no rushing.

The phone rang. You answered. Then it rang again from the same person… on a different app.

If you’ve ever had a phone call, a FaceTime, a WhatsApp, and a regular text arrive from the same person on the same afternoon — welcome to modern communication.
It’s genuinely confusing. It’s not just you.
Sorting it out is exactly the kind of thing we help with.

02/21/2026

If you don’t get it the first time, try again.

You can close the app and reopen it. You can restart the computer. You can ask the same question twice.
Technology doesn’t keep score.
You’re learning at your pace—and that pace counts.

She didn’t lose her recipe. She didn’t lose her bank. She didn’t lose anything important.
She just made room.
Small win. Big relief.
