Occupational therapists in private practice have the added responsibility of managing their business practice. Occupational therapists should be mindful about how and what they advertise and be aware of how certain marketing strategies may be viewed by the public.

While some occupational therapists may think posting client photos is acceptable, this practice can be of particular concern.

Practice Tip of the Week: Always obtain informed consent before starting care. Consent is an ongoing process, not a one-time signature.

Clear communication builds trust and ensures clients understand their care every step of the way.

This November, join us in recognizing Fall Prevention Month.

Occupational therapists help people stay safe, independent, and active by identifying risks, recommending practical strategies, and supporting mobility at home and in the community.

Falls can happen at any age — let’s work together to prevent them and keep our communities healthy.
