I’m not one for resolutions.
But I’m all in on meaningful growth. The kind that inspires fills me up even when it’s hard work.

In our next Mini Huddle, we’ll start with our usual check-in. How are you doing as 2026 kicks off?

Then we’ll turn toward what’s next:
Where do you want to focus your energy this year? (It doesn’t have to be work)!

And here’s the part I’m especially excited about—we’re going to share the things we are currently loving.

The systems that keep us steady.
The podcasts that shift our perspective.
The tiny tools or habits that quietly change everything.

We’re all swimming in different pools of information.

Let’s bring the best of what we’re learning into the Huddle—so we can all benefit from what’s lighting each other up.

Come with your lunch (yes, grab lunch).
Connect with folks who get what it means to work in healthcare.
Leave feeling supported and inspired.

If you work anywhere in healthcare, you are welcome here.

If we haven’t met you yet, definitely join us. We’re a good time!

Here’s the thing about being "tough."

It’s not about building walls so high you never let anyone in or carrying the weight until you break.

Real toughness? It’s knowing when to open the door and ask for support.

That’s what healthcare workers are actually doing. A Canadian study found we’re 1.73X more likely than others to seek mental health care.

Because strength isn’t pretending you don’t need help.
Strength is saying: "I matter, too." 💙

When your thoughts feel knotted and nothing’s coming through, there’s a breath for that.

Alternate Nostril Breathing is like a reset switch for your brain, clearing the fog, balancing your focus, and making space for new ideas to land.

Inhale through one nostril. Exhale through the other. Slow. Steady. Repeat 10-15 times

And suddenly, the frustration eases and creativity has room to flow again. 💙

If our patients ignored their symptoms, we’d be the first to say, “Don’t wait until it gets worse.”
But we do it all the time with ourselves.

This month’s Shift is a gentle, two-minute check-in to catch the whispers before they turn into screams.
Your body’s way of saying, “Hey, I’m on your team.” 💙

Like this if you want doable care for your mind, body, and spirit, and subscribe to The Shift for your monthly reset.

Some parts of healthcare are easy to explain.
The charts. The treatments. The shift notes.

But there’s another layer, the one no one writes down.

The quiet way you absorb someone’s grief.
The patience you offer when someone’s afraid.
The stories that trail you home, even on your days off.

The hidden emotional labour is real. And it’s heavy.

That's why we have The Shift to help you set some of it down.
A quick monthly check‑in to bring you a smile, a breath, and a few ideas that actually fit into your life.

Because all that care you give? You’re worthy of it, too. 💙

Feeling overheated? Meet your new cool-down bestie, the yogic breath called Sitali.

When a hot flash hits or the humidity makes it feel like 43C this simple breath offers quick relief.

1️⃣ Roll your tongue like a straw, or curl the tip of your tongue back so the under surface of tongue is exposed, or gently close teeth and keep lips open.
2️⃣ Breathe in slowly through your mouth and feel that cool breeze flow in.
3️⃣ Exhale through your nose, soft and easy. Repeat a few rounds.

This breath restores your cool in more ways than one.

Bonus: Have a sip of water too!

We love to believe that healthcare workers are “built different.”
That they’ll always stay. Always show up. Always push through.

But here’s the truth no one wants to say out loud: burnout is pushing many out the door.

People aren’t just tired, they’re at a breaking point.
The choice to step back isn’t weakness. It’s survival.

Understaffing leads to longer wait times, increased stress for those left providing coverage, increased errors and reduced quality of care. This is a call to action, not for staff to “stay positive” but for those in power to fix broken systems.

These outcomes make burnout a public health risk.

Because without healthy staff, there is no healthcare. 💙

Twelve hours on your feet, barely a moment to drink water, and a brain that feels like it’s running on fumes.

It really is the worst.

You’re allowed to name the hard parts without sugarcoating them. You’re allowed to feel it all and still choose to show up again tomorrow.

Sending you a soft place to land when you finally clock out. 💙

Today’s International Self-Care Day.

We know self-care gets tossed around a lot and can feel kind of out of reach especially when you’re used to taking care of everyone else first.

That’s why we put together a little 10-Day Self-Care Series.

Nothing fancy. Just small things you can actually do, even on the busiest days.

Like a love note to your nervous system.

When was the last time you let yourself be a little silly?

Moving simply because it feels good. Laughing at a wobbly step. Skipping without a single care about what it looks like.

Play reminds us that joy isn’t something we have to wait for, it’s something we can choose, moment to moment.

Even five minutes of skipping, wiggling, or wildly off-beat dancing can shift your whole day.

Today, let yourself follow that spark. 💙
