Since the stone ages, Pharmacy has relied on external recruiters and word-of-mouth to connect pharmacists to employers. The current marketplace removes the power and dynamic of the interaction from both the employer and pharmacist, leaving both sides frustrated by inserting a middle man in the process. The addition of these extra layers of administration siphon wages and drive up overall costs for those involved. A pharmacy job market place has always been something we thought the profession needed. A place where pharmacists and pharmacy owners could quickly look for employment or post a job/shift that they needed to cover. We were surprised that there really wasn’t a place to do that. The Genesis
After two months of searching for relief shifts on his own, contacting about a dozen pharmacy owners, and spending hours driving to various cities, Alam Hallan failed to understand why it was so complicated. “Why do I need to sign up with third party companies to get in touch with pharmacy owners who needed pharmacists?”, was constantly on his mind. Drawing upon his background in web development and current understanding of the pharmacy environment he began brainstorming. Alam was looking for a “Steve Jobs” to help turn this idea into a marketing success, but since he was no Steve Wozniak, he had to settle with classmate Nick Malian. Unbeknownst to Alam, Nick and his employer Phil Hauser were envisioning the same thing. The addition of Phil to the team provided them with an experienced pharmacy owner’s perspective and the much needed business acumen. The Mission
