I'm leading another Yoga Nidra at Yogaflow in Langley!

The theme for this class will center around forgiveness.

Wear something comfy and bring along a blanket and water, and a journal. We'll be stretching and moving before the meditation.

See you there!

Beginnings

Sue Shanti Yoga is the culmination of a long dream to learn and teach yoga as a way of life.

Growing up with a mother who was sick with an unknown illness, who was determined to heal herself through natural methods and had the biggest heart I have ever known, had an incredible influence over my own path in life. She was the one who introduced me to energy healing at 14, who introduced me to meditation at 15 and was my biggest cheerleader in life. A lover of herbs, gardening, animals, and all things weird and ‘new age’, her seemingly endless library of books on self help, esoteric knowledge and Asian religions was always at my fingertips for discovering something new. Nothing was strange to mom, everything was something to be discovered, and it was this insatiable hunger for knowledge coupled with an unending curiosity that slowly developed inside my own psyche. I owe so much to her, my life would not be what it is today without her gentle loving presence.

After many years of self discovery, traveling to distant countries, including two years in India co-building and co-running a yoga training school in Rishikesh, I am back home in Canada. I chose the name Sue Shanti Yoga as a nod to the way my first name (Susan) is pronounced by Indians in India as well as a gentle reminder to remain peaceful in all actions. Shanti in Sanskrit means peace.

My hope is to give these moments of peace in my classes which are free from judgement, a place to explore and a place to grow, however that looks to you. We are all walking each other home, so why not make the journey a pleasant one.
