★With the right instinct, education, experience, to identify the appropriate treatment for total body healing. Our goal is to improve joints and muscle elasticity and flexibility for a variety of sports and everyday living. For our athletes, we find the right therapy that improves physical and mental performance especially for pre-and-post- sporting events.
★Sports massage has a number of benefits including preventing injury, restoring mobility to injured muscle tissue, boosting performance, maintaining the body in overall better condition, and extending the life of your athletic career. When a person receives a sports massage, their body releases neurotransmitters called endorphins. The pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in the brain produce endorphins which they act as the body’s natural pain reliever. Endorphins that are released due to receiving a sports massage help to decrease anxiety, provide pain relief, improve mood, and enhance a person’s state of well-being. Common injuries that we treat:
Sprain strain, muscles rupture(partial), dislocation, frozen shoulder,
knee, ankle, hip, shoulder, wrist, neck, cramps, nerve pain, spasm, etc.
★Deep tissue is a type of massage that reaches structures far beneath the superficial fascia to attempt to relieve chronic muscle problems and injuries. It is a massage that focuses on the manipulation of deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques. The benefits vary between enhancing function, aid in the healing process, releasing chronic muscle tension and most definitely increase range of motion, decrease muscle stiffness and soreness after exercise, help to enhance athletic performance to avoid injury. This kind of massage is the most common and popular treatment.
★Active release technique (ART) is a form of deep tissue manipulation, used to release what is presumed to be soft tissue adhesions, techniques perform with passive movement in order to increase range of motion and muscle strength.

Perceived Benefits Pain Relief: Many runners report significant reduction in IT band/knee pain after rolling the IT band, quads, and glutes.
Improved Mobility: Helps warm up muscles, allowing for deeper stretches and increased range of motion.
Recovery: Can help break up knots and move “junk” out of muscles, reducing soreness.
Holistic Relief: Users find rolling the entire chain (quads, hamstrings, glutes) is more effective than just the IT band.
Expert & Scientific Perspectives
Fascia vs. Muscle: The IT band is tough connective tissue (fascia) that can’t be stretched or lengthened by foam rolling; the tightness comes from the muscles attaching to it.
Target Muscles: Focus should be on the muscles that attach to the IT band, like the TFL (tensor fasciae latae), glutes (maximus, medius, minimus), and lateral quads, not just the band itself.
Mechanism: Effects are likely neurological (pain gate theory, increased pain tolerance) or psychological, providing short-term relief, not significant tissue change.
Pre-Workout vs. Recovery: More effective as a warm-up to enhance ROM and performance than as a pure recovery tool. What to Do Instead/In Addition
Target Surrounding Muscles: Foam roll quads, glutes (medius/minimus), and TFL.
Strengthen Weak Links: Address underlying hip/glute weakness with exercises like clamshells.
Use a PVC Pipe: Some find harder PVC pipe more effective for intense pressure than soft foam rollers.
Seek Professional Advice: A physical therapist can give a proper diagnosis and address root causes.

Key Benefits:
Improved Mobility & Posture: Helps counteract forward hunching by promoting thoracic extension, a movement many lack.
Muscle Relief: Releases tight spots, knots, and general tension in the mid-back muscles.
Pre-Workout Prep: Good for warming up, increasing range of motion (ROM), and boosting performance before lifting.
Recovery Aid: Reduces post-exercise soreness and fatigue.
Circulation Boost: Increases blood flow to the area.
Neurological Reset: Creates a mind-muscle connection and signals muscles to relax, resetting tension.
Important Considerations &Tips:
Focus on Thoracic (Mid-Back): Avoid rolling the lower back (lumbar spine) due to instability.
Technique Matters: Use deep, controlled breaths and pause on tender spots for 20-60 seconds, aiming for a “hurts good” sensation.
It’s Not Magic: Some users see it as a temporary fix or neurological trick rather than a permanent structural change, but still find it highly effective.
Use Other Tools: Lacrosse balls can target smaller knots.
