Unity Partner Massage

Unity Partner Massage Learn and practice partner yoga positions that are designed for healing and therapeutic benefits. B Workshops, courses and trainings in partner yoga massage.

In Thailand, Thai massage is traditionally practiced in a large open room (often in Buddhist temples!) with multiple practitioners working together. This creates a group healing dynamic which enhances the power of each individual session. Partner massage is an ancient and dynamic bodywork therapy, having it's roots in the Indian system of Yoga and Ayurveda. It was brought to Thailand along with Buddhism around 2000 years ago. It combines assisted stretches with techniques to stimulate the energy lines and pressure points within the body ~ Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment which:

~Facilitates relaxation
~Heightens awareness
~Frees blockages in energy flow
~Invigorates the nervous system
~Relieves pain and muscle tension
~Strengthens and rejuvenates the body
~Improves circulation of blood and lymph
~Increases flexibility (passive yoga postures)
~Gives a general feeling of well being assisting in balancing body, mind, and spirit.
~Enhances elimination of wastes and toxic debris from physical, mental and emotional strain

Partner massage is performed on mats on the floor, and is done fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, yoga-type clothing that is loose fitting and covers your armpits, as well as socks to cover your feet.

Q) How is Thai Massage related to Buddhism?

A) Thai Massage developed over centuries within the environment of Buddhist temples. It was regarded as one of the many ways of working towards the Four Divine States of Consciousness. The qualities embodied in these states are: Metta: the desire to make others happy and the ability to show loving kindness Karuna: compassion for all who suffer and desire to ease their sufferings. Mudita: rejoicing with those who have good fortune and never feeling envy. Upekkha: regarding one's fellows without prejudice or preference.
None of these notions are confined solely to Buddhism; they are universal principles that can be applied within one's own tradition or belief. Massage given with these motives foremost is a healing experience for both the client and practitioner.

The question:
"What is Thai Yoga Massage? What can it do for me?"

A) Thai Yoga Massage is a complex sequence of soft tissue pressing, stretching, twisting, and joint manipulation. Thai massage improves circulation, flexibility, stimulates the immune system, expediates metabolism, relieves muscular tension and balances the body energetically. Many of the stretches are derived from hatha yoga postures.

B) Thai Massage is an ancient healing art which has been practiced in Thailand for several hundred years. Thai massage has its roots in India, in the Indian yoga tradition and in Buddhism. The modality is a member of a whole family of oriental bodywork based on the intrinsic energy flow and balance theory of health and healing.

C) In Thai medical theory, the body's vital life energy flows along channels called Sen. This energy powers all the physical, mental, and emotional processes which will only function normally when energy supply matches demand. Part of Thai Massage focuses on the main Sen channels by application of rhythmic pressure along these energetic lines to help release energy blockages and stagnation
