Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honour the transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people whose lives were lost to transphobic violence.

TDoR is a time to remember, reflect, and commit to creating safer, more inclusive communities. Trans people continue to face higher rates of violence, discrimination, and barriers to care. Affirming, compassionate mental health support can make a real difference.

At CMHA Halton, we’re committed to providing welcoming, identity-affirming services through our Gender Affirming Clinic, counselling, peer support, and programs like AFFIRM, a group for LGBTQ2S+ youth and adults that integrates identity affirmation with cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).

We’re here for our transgender community today and every day.

Can AI really care for mental health?

Artificial intelligence is transforming how we access information and connect with support. But mental health care still begins and ends with people.

AI can support care, not replace it.

Human connection, empathy, and trust remain at the heart of recovery and resilience.

Grief is a natural, human response to loss. Yet for many, it can feel isolating or misunderstood.

On National Grief and Bereavement Day, we reflect on the many ways grief shapes our lives, our families, and our communities.

Everyone grieves differently. There is no timeline, no “right way”, and no single path through it. What matters is having support that honours your experience and meets you where you are.

At CMHA Halton, we offer counselling, family support, crisis services, and community programs to help individuals and caregivers navigate the emotional, mental, and physical impacts of grief.

If you or someone you care about is struggling, you’re not alone. Support is close to home.

During National Addictions Awareness Week, we’re highlighting the science behind addiction and the importance of compassion in supporting recovery.

Addiction can take many forms, from substances to behaviours like gambling, gaming, or shopping. No matter the type, the changes in the brain are real and recovery is possible.

Everyone deserves compassion, care, and support on their path to healing.

If you or someone you know needs help, CMHA Halton offers local services and 24/7 crisis support through our COAST Crisis Line at 1-877-825-9011.
