You likely became a health coach because you want to help people.

You probably thought it would be hard but not as hard as you are now realizing to get clients...

Loads of people are still following the conventional route and the ones that are looking for help online need to like, know and trust you before they even consider working with you.

Do you blame them?

There are a lot of false people online and giving someone online your money is not going to just happen.

I grew my business but the only way that I grew it was to give.

I gave and gave and gave information, training, and knowledge so that it could become clear that I was, in fact, an expert in my field.

What is your field?

You cannot be an expert in everything, so what area can you truly be of help to others?

If you want to help others than don't pretend that you can help them with everything.

You don't hire a plumber to do your electrical work.

Take the time and study your inspired area and then start writing so that you can connect with your potential clients!

Morning thoughts...

I am doing up our taxes for 2019.

Everyone close to us knows that Anthony works 3 jobs.

Last year he worked 5.

The year before that he was laid off and collected EI.

He has done all of this with a serious concussion from being hit by a drunk driver from Arnprior... One of his jobs is a minimum wage job. He typically leaves at 7:30 and comes home at 10ish including Saturdays.

I left my teaching job to do more with the kids and around the house to compensate for what he is now unable to do with his concussion and to develop my own business.

Now...

Doing up our taxes and reviewing our finances has made me really think. I hear everyone complain in forums that we need low-income housing, we need more affordable this or that.

Typically, I stay out of these discussions. Of course, there are true needs for this.

I never hear those who make what we call a "decent" living share their thoughts.

What I can share is that we had a much "richer" lifestyle the year Anthony Seed collected EI.

WHY?

We make more now right? Theoretically YES, realistically NO.

HOW?

When he was on EI, we had "perks" (yes, I did indeed call it that). We applied for Jump Start and Kids Can and ALL of the kid's sports were FREE. The entire year, my kids were in hockey, ringette, gymnastics, art, skiing, horseback riding. ALL free!

At income tax time we got money BACK...? Seriously...

I called all of our billing companies and EVERY single one lowered our payments when I shared our income.

I won't even share how much we owe this year but it is several months full pay...

Everyone needs more affordable NOT just people that think or cannot afford it.

I also share this. We have been broke. As in sold our dream farm, lost everything and had 0... after our daughter almost died at birth. That snippet is for those that feel perhaps we have never been truly in financial strain...

Here is where I get ticked off.

Those that say well, I only make minimum wage.

How many jobs are you working? Do you say that if you work more, you will get taxed more so don't bother? Do you say that you won't work more hours bc you will be away from your family?

Again, so many need low-income and more needs met BUT I think a true screening on each person should be taken.

I know countless (countless) people in low-income housing that don't even bother applying for jump-start to put their kids in sports because they don't want to. That brag about how cheap their rent is. Stop and grab smokes and booze for the weekend. I am not saying you shouldn't be able to have a good time BUT broke means choosing between smokes or wine and pay your bill.

The thing is if you had 0 money you cannot do those things.

Period and the end.

I have been broke. Broke and 0 money, means 0 smoking... If you have that money and you say you cannot afford food? Really? I have been there, that is a choice.

I am gonna make some haters likely and that is ok.

I watch my husband work harder than I ever imagined and doing it so the kids can be in sports, so we can pay the massive tax bill.

If you make minimum wage, don't think that is it for you. You can work 2 minimum wage jobs, you can build your own business on the side. Don't think you can't have more and don't be ashamed of where you are at. (I was)

If you make decent money, don't feel guilty about it. You earned it, you work for it! Don't teach children to be ashamed of wanting a high"financial quality" life because others do not have it or are suffering.

Educating is different from devaluing.

Some random thoughts as I complete our taxes...
