2.5 months into building my new life in Canada and…..
If you’ve followed my stories so far you might have seen that I hit the ground running with a job offer and full compensation I asked for by week 3, amazing, but…
I had a choice to make!
Do I play it safe, take the “good” job and let the inner critic win or do I practice what I preach and push for the job and lifestyle I truly want?
Despite the loud voice within, telling me to take the security of a job now. “You should be grateful to even get that”.
Feeling the pressure of being an immigrant in a new country and hearing the struggles of many others in the same boat as me.
I decided to trust my gut, I let the job offer go and rode the wave of uncertainty a little longer.
This week I am delighted to say, 4 interviews and some months later I have secured the job I truly wanted, and it is better than I imagined. It’s exactly the agile, entrepreneurial, people focused culture I’d hoped for and as an added bonus they offered me above what I asked for!
Sigh of relief is an understatement, but hell YES it was worth it! 🙌
Why am I sharing this?
Sure, I want to celebrate myself… If I don’t, who will! 😋🤸
But, if we only share the struggles and not the success stories, how can we empower each other to back ourselves?
Especially for other women like me in the construction industry! 👷♀️
So I’m sharing this because all the steps I have taken to get me here, particularly the work I have done in the Coaching, Yoga & Healing spaces gave me the confidence, self belief and nervous system regulation tools to carry myself through and believe I deserved the job I wanted and I got it!
If I can do it, so can you!
If this resonates at all and you think a conversation could help, feel free to drop me a message so we can all rise together!! xx ☺️💃
