✨🧵 Fashionably Sewber at Northstar 🧵✨

At Fashionably Sewber, our Northstar residents have been learning the art of creating ribbon skirts. Ribbon skirts are more than just clothing — they hold deep cultural meaning, symbolizing strength, identity, and connection. For many, making a skirt is a powerful act of healing, creativity, and self-expression.

Through this program, participants are gaining sewing skills, building confidence, and connecting with the pride of making something beautiful and meaningful with their own hands. We’re so proud of the incredible work being done at Northstar!

🧵✂️ Introducing “Fashionably Sewber”! ✂️🧵

We’re so excited to launch Fashionably Sewber, Northstar’s new weekly sewing program — made possible by the generous support of Ricks Heart Foundation BC 💙

In Class #1, our clients got an intro to sewing basics, learned how to use the machines, and made their very first project: scrunchies! Right now we have 6 participants per class — and we hope to grow from here. 🙌

Big thanks to Rick’s Heart Foundation for making programs like this possible. RHF supports initiatives that empower those impacted by poverty, addiction, and personal crisis — helping build bridges to brighter futures. 💫
