How are you keeping yourself moving and inspired these days?

Are you choosing to be your own cheerleader?

I catch myself often saying “I want to do this/I want to start doing that” but then the follow through turns flat.

The inspiration and motivation feels like a struggle...this year has felt like one step forward two steps back. So I keep coming back to the one step forward, and focusing on that.

We will all have losses and failures, but I think coming back and focussing on the wins, no matter how small, that’s what helps to stay inspired. We don’t always have someone in our corner either, so practising being your own cheerleader through your wins is big!

What’s your favourite thing to do these days?

I like dancing in my living room, snuggling my dog, sleeping, listening to some podcasts, doing online courses, cleaning and organizing my home, listening to music music music feeling the music 🙏🏼💛

I’m going to be honest I have never been one to enjoy the gym. My lifetime of physical training has been so different from what I think of as the gym, it feels uncomfortable to me.

I’m obsessed with anatomy and functional movement and I know there are many different ways to work at the gym but it has never been a movement practice I’ve been called to.

My body doesn’t crave the way my muscles burn or how my bone structure feels when it’s under the pressure of adding weight.

As someone who is very flexible and in fact has had many injuries in relation to my flexibility I have spent the last 10 years working on creating my strength to balance my flexibility. I get scared with lifting weights because of the ptsd I have from severe injuries. Yet ironically I know by safely practicing weight bearing exercises this will increase my bone density, cardiovascular health, and immune system.

I have recently committed to going to the gym once a week (I am beyond lucky to have access to private gym use).

I know in my body it may never feel as good and freeing as dancing does, or as flowing as yoga does or as articulated as pilates does. However I am open to falling in love with the way that it makes me strong in a new way and eventually the way that it physically feels in my body.

Grateful to be able to take baby steps in creating new beliefs about how different movement practices feel for me.

I want to encourage you to stand up for your worth. I want to encourage you to question what your work is worth. I want to ask you, why do you do what you do?


And I want to help you come to a place where you feel confident and satisfied in your answer. Only you can answer this. You decide what your comfort level is. And you have the right to change that answer as you change too.


I want to be honest. I want us all to be honest. If you are asking someone to volunteer, then use the word volunteer. If someone chooses to agree that’s wonderful. There needs to be an ask. There needs to be a conversation. There needs to be an agreement.


You deserve this.
