Running for Hearts

Running for Hearts Running for Hearts was created by motivated students who wish to restore the imbalance in medical treatment seen around the world.

Running for Hearts is the Canadian division of Heart Care International, a recognized non-profit organization that seeks to raise funds for medical treatment for kids in developing countries. Our organization hosts running events, welcoming participants of all ages and athletic ability, to fund cardiac catheterization procedures for children in developing countries. Since its inception, Running for Hearts has raised a total of $6800 USD, which has funded three procedures in El Salvador. We hope to inspire our runners as they achieve their goals, all while saving a child’s life on the other side of the world.

Just over a week ago, students and other members of our community joined us at the MEC Pacific Spirit Park 5K. Thanks to incredible support we received from local companies, generous donors, and of course ALL OF YOU we were able to raise $5365 USD. This money will fund surgeries for two children in Chiapas, Mexico. We hope you had a great time running for a cause, because we sure did! Thank you to all the amazing people that joined us at our last event, the MEC Vancouver Road Race TWO. We hope you had a great time burning calories and raising money, because we sure did! Your sweat (and maybe some tears Otis) helped us raise $4967 USD, which directly funded surgeries for two children in El Salvador. Stay tuned for our next event!
