Connie Pretula

Connie Pretula I’m The Menopause Navigator and Certified Nutritional Practitioner. Contact me to get started. Medical doctors told me for years there was nothing wrong.

I specialize in helping women thrive through menopause and beyond with personalized health strategies and support. Pursuing our goals and dreams is so much more fun when we feel great. I challenged the narrative of what life should be after 50 and decided to live the life I wanted. My nutrition education finally gave me answers and insights and allowed me to learn how to heal my body with whole food ingredients and herbal medicine. I also incorporated lifestyle changes, remember there is no silver bullet, health and wellbeing has many components. One thing I can assure you, it’s not about starving and long hours of exercise. If you are ready to start living your best life, reach out, I’d love to learn more about you.

Being a solopreneur is not for the faint of heart. It means deciding where my time goes each day.

My clients come first. Reviewing journals, responding to messages, and creating the support they need.

When I started doing weekly YouTube lives, it was to share more detailed guidance on navigating menopause. I truly enjoy teaching and sharing what I know.

But over time, I realized each video was taking a full day to create, and something else started to shift.

I began to feel like I was talking at a screen.

What I was missing most was connection.

Where I feel the most satisfaction is when I can see someone nod, hear their questions, and respond in real time. That exchange is what matters to me.

So after some reflection, I’ve decided to move my YouTube lives to once a month.

This allows me to stay focused on the work I value most. Supporting my clients in a more personal and connected way.

Constipation after 40 is more common than many women realize. During perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause, hormonal shifts can influence digestion, gut motility, and bowel regularity. Many women suddenly find themselves dealing with constipation, bloating, or slower digestion and assume it is simply part of aging.

In this episode of Navigating Midlife Live, I explore the connection between menopause and constipation and explain why digestive changes can appear during this stage of life.

As a Certified Nutritional Practitioner and The Menopause Navigator, I share how hormones influence digestion and how women can support their gut health through nutrition and simple lifestyle habits.

In this conversation we discuss:

• Why constipation after 40 can suddenly appear
• The connection between menopause and constipation
• How estrogen and progesterone influence digestive motility
• Why stress and the nervous system impact digestion
• Nutrition strategies that support healthy bowel movements
• Simple daily habits that help support gut health in midlife

Digestive changes during the stages of menopause are common, but they are often misunderstood. When women understand the connection between hormones, nutrition, and gut health, it becomes much easier to support the body and restore comfortable, regular digestion.

I'd greatly appreciate you subscribing for more conversations about menopause nutrition, gut health, hormone balance, and supporting your body during midlife and beyond. This also helps my channel be seen by more women.

Many women navigating menopause are trying to piece together information from articles, podcasts, and social media. It can be difficult to know who to trust or where to begin.

With March 8th being International Women’s Day, it reminded me of something I feel very strongly about. Women deserve thoughtful support during the stages of menopause and guidance from practitioners who take their health and well-being seriously.

In this episode of Navigating Midlife Live, I share why I made the decision to offer a guarantee to the women I work with.

After decades of working closely with clients and now supporting women through menopause as a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, I believe women deserve a practitioner who is genuinely invested in helping them feel better and who stands behind their work.

When a woman chooses to invest in her health, she should feel confident that the person guiding her is equally committed to helping her reach the outcomes they have defined together.

In my practice, I take time to gather a detailed understanding of each client’s health history, lifestyle, nutrition habits, and current symptoms. From there, we develop a personalized approach designed to support her body through the stages of menopause and help her regain vibrancy and vitality.

This conversation also explores questions many women begin asking when they start looking for menopause support:

• What does a menopause practitioner actually do?
• What qualifications should I look for when seeking menopause support?
• Why should I choose personalized menopause support?

If you are navigating perimenopause, menopause, or post-menopause and want to better understand what meaningful support can look like, this episode may offer a helpful perspective.

If this conversation resonates with you and you would like to explore your own situation more personally, I offer a complimentary 30-minute conversation.

It is simply an opportunity to connect, share what you have been experiencing, and learn what working together might look like.

You can find a time that works for you here: https://l.bttr.to/mXhux

Many women find that even a short conversation can bring clarity and reassurance about their next steps.

This past Sunday was International Women's Day and the overarching theme that stood out to me was Support.

Women invest time, energy, and money trying to feel better during the stages of menopause. They read articles, follow advice online, try different supplements, and sometimes join programs hoping something will finally help.

But there is one question women rarely ask.

"Does the practitioner guiding me stand behind their work?"

That question became very important to me.

It is one of the reasons I made the decision to offer a guarantee to the women I work with. Not because menopause has a quick fix. Because I am confident in the thoughtful process we go through together and the guidance I provide.

I’ll be talking about this today on Navigating Midlife Live at 2:00 PM PDT and sharing why I chose to structure my work this way.

If this is a conversation that interests you, I would love to have you join me. https://www.youtube.com/live/4qsbYie-YNY?si=8H-aiogDlBlikpKG

I’m also curious.

When choosing a health practitioner, what matters most to you?

Snoring in menopause is more common than most women realize, yet very few people talk about it.

If you have found yourself snoring for the first time, snoring louder than before, or feeling more fatigued despite sleeping through the night, hormone changes may be playing a significant role.

In this Navigating Midlife Live episode, I explain why snoring often increases during perimenopause and continues into post menopause, and what it may be telling you about your health.

We explore:

• How declining estrogen affects airway tissue
• The role of progesterone in breathing regulation
• Why weight gain can impact snoring
• The connection between cortisol, stress, and disrupted sleep
• When snoring may signal sleep apnea in women
• Practical steps to support better sleep during menopause

Snoring is not just about aging. It is often connected to hormonal shifts, nervous system regulation, body composition changes, and overall metabolic health.

Understanding what is happening inside your body allows you to make informed, supportive choices rather than brushing it off as “just getting older.”

If this conversation resonates with you, please like and subscribe. Your engagement helps my content reach more women who may be quietly wondering why their sleep has changed and looking for real answers.

You do not have to navigate menopause alone.

Menopause and gut health are deeply connected, yet this is one of the most overlooked foundations in perimenopause and post menopause support.

For over a decade, I have started here with my clients. Not with symptom chasing. Not with extreme diets. I begin with the gut.

In this episode of Navigating Midlife Live, we explore:

• How hormonal shifts alter gut motility and drive bloating and constipation during the stages of menopause
• How the microbiome influences inflammation and hormone balance
• The gut–brain connection and its impact on mood and stress
• Why pelvic floor concerns and stool leakage should never be dismissed
• The foundational shifts that make the biggest difference

If you feel like your body has changed and nothing seems to fully resolve your symptoms, this conversation will help you understand why.

Menopause is not just about hormones. It is about how your whole body is changing. When the gut is supported properly, everything else becomes easier to manage.

In this episode of Navigating Midlife Live, I explore why motivation often dips during perimenopause and continues into menopause and post menopause, and why this is not simply a lack of discipline. We talk about why consistency matters more than willpower at this stage of life.

We cover:

• How hormone shifts affect energy and focus
• Why small daily habits support cognitive clarity
• The danger of all or nothing thinking
• Why accountability makes sustainable health possible

If you are navigating midlife while managing a career, family, or leadership role, this conversation may resonate.

Why does everything feel so hard during perimenopause and menopause?

Many women experience emotional overwhelm, increased sensitivity, anxiety, brain fog, and feel less able to cope with life during perimenopause and menopause like they used to. Tasks that once felt manageable can suddenly feel exhausting. Emotions feel closer to the surface. Stress feels harder to handle. Life feels heavier.

In this Navigating Midlife Live episode, I explain why this happens and what is changing in the brain, nervous system, and hormonal system during the stages of menopause. We talk about why overwhelm can feel unfamiliar and intense, and why this does not mean anything is wrong with you.

This video is for you if you have been asking:
- Why am I so emotional during menopause?
- Why does everything feel overwhelming?
- Why can’t I handle stress like I used to?

Understanding what is happening beneath the surface can bring relief and perspective during this transition.
