Is there any science behind healing with sound?
Yes, there is. A 2020 study found that after a Himalayan singing bowl sound bath, participants displayed lowered heart rates, stress levels as well as lower levels of anger, fatigue, and confusion. Researchers concluded that sound baths are safe, and a low-cost intervention for sleep disruptions, chronic pain, and anxiety.
Another study published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found that an hour-long sound meditation helped people reduce tension, anger, fatigue, anxiety, and depression while increasing a sense of spiritual well-being.
