The Feldenkrais Method® is a process for achieving life-long physical improvement. Through precise movement and skilled touch, people gain a better sense of their bodies and a way for them to overcome the unproductive cycles of self-criticism and helplessness that can get in the way of their continued well-being. Instead of focusing on getting back to normal, people focus on how to immediately begin looking forward to better than ever. It is gentle and useful to people of all levels of fitness and flexibility. People who do Feldenkrais® talk about their increased awareness of and respect for their bodies. When they experience pain, they often feel empowered to help themselves and to get on with the things that they love. They often feel more optimistic and increasingly autonomous in situations. They often find themselves feeling confident and curious about new physical activity. Awareness Through Movement® classes and workshops provide you with a wide variety of physical opportunities designed to expand your boundaries while simultaneously creating greater ease. You begin to discover and harness the sources of your inner strength and stability. One-on-one Functional Integration® sessions address your personal needs and provide you with immediate strategies for overcoming obstacles, becoming resilient, and empowering yourself to get on with what you love to do. The Okanagan Feldenkrais® Centre also offers regularly scheduled Feldenkrais®LIVE online ATM® classes.
