Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.
Today, we remember the 6000 lives that have been lost in our province since the beginning of this crisis, and we hold hope and advocate for those who continue to face this harm everyday.
Today, we stand for our brothers and sisters, our friends and strangers, and we fight the stigma.
Today, we thank healthcare workers, first responders, social workers and care providers for being on the front lines of this crisis. For saving lives, for fighting burnout, for tirelessly returning to what can sometimes feel like an uphill battle.
Today, we look to our leaders to make decisions that will stop the pain and loss, that will help ease the struggle of people who use drugs and their loved ones, and that will allow for safety and recovery during this difficult and tragic time.
Today, we share messages of support, harm reduction, safe resources, and mental health services to those who really need them.
Today, we reach out to those who have been affected by this crisis, and we send our love and well wishes to them. 💜💜💜
