Sometimes the word trauma makes people pull back.
It can sound like something reserved for catastrophic experiences — car accidents, abuse, war.
And yes, EMDR is a gold-standard treatment for PTSD.
But it’s also a powerful tool for healing what I call emotional injuries — the hurts that live in the background and shape how we see ourselves and others.
Those moments when you felt not enough, unsafe, unworthy, unseen.
When you had to cope by shutting down, overachieving, people-pleasing, or self-criticizing.
EMDR helps the nervous system process these stored experiences, so you can feel more grounded, connected, and at peace in the present.
You don’t have to call it trauma.
You just have to notice that something in your life feels stuck —
and know that healing is possible. 💛
